'Are you quite sure Mary-Kate wants to see me anymore? The last time I saw her she was suspected by me and Rose of being stolen by the press.' Said Clara. 'Of course she still wants to see you! It wasn't your fault.' Said Ashley. 'But it was mine.' Replied Rose. 'Not yours either. It wasn't anyone's fault.' Said Ashley.
Ashley, Clara, Rose and Elizabeth came to watch Mary-Kate's horseback riding competition today. Scarlett had filming for a movie and Colin had to work. Elizabeth came up with the idea of taking the girls to the competition. Mary-Kate was very good at horseback riding. She had a jumping competition today and Elizabeth and Ashley wanted to come and watch. Rose was also excited. She had ridden a friend's horse before and she could tell everyone exactly how to do it.
They sat down on the stand. Clara sat between Rose and Elizabeth. On the other side of Rose sat Ashley. "Have you ever been to a horseback riding competition before? Asked Elizabeth curiously. 'No, I really don't have anything to do with horses.' Answered Clara. 'I have! I love horses.' Said Rose. She climbed onto Ashley's lap. Clara looked at Elizabeth and she shook her head, smiling.
'Do you like horses? Questioningly, Clara looked at Elizabeth. 'I think they are beautiful animals but I don't have much to do with them. Mary-Kate is the horse girl of the family.' She told. 'You have a brother too, don't you?' Asked Clara. Elizabeth nodded. 'Trent. But Trent doesn't have much with horses either.'
'Hey, the first rider is about to start.' Rose pointed to the lane. The first rider entered the lane with the horse. 'Aren't those hurdles very high?' Asked Clara aloud. 'Yes, but these riders and horses are professional.' Answered Ashley.
The competition started and Clara and Rose looked around. They had never seen anything like it before and they were stunned at how something like this went. So far, no rider had been clear and it was very exciting. 'Now where is Mary-Kate?' asked Rose impatiently. 'She's riding in now. When this rider finishes the course it's Mary-Kate's turn.' Knew Ashley to tell her.
'What is riding in? Asked Rose. 'Before Mary-Kate has her competition she gets to practice in another arena for a little while. Then the horse's muscles can get warm.' Told Ashley. 'So Mary-Kate is already riding?' Asked Rose. Elizabeth and Ashley nodded simultaneously. 'It's her turn next so then she'll come here.' Said Elizabeth.
The rider had finished her round. She was the first today who had ridden completely clear. Now it was Mary-Kate's turn. She came riding into the arena. 'Wow what a beautiful horse! Admiringly, Clara looked at the horse Mary-Kate was sitting on. 'That's Fatum.' Said Elizabeth. 'Fatum, what a lovely name!' Cried Rose. 'Yes it is. She's had him for a year and a half now and she loves the little animal.' Smiled Elizabeth.
Mary-Kate began her course and Clara had grabbed Colin's camera. This morning Colin had given it to her so she could take some nice pictures. Scarlett would have liked to come along to the race but she couldn't cancel her work.
Mary-Kate and Fatum arrived at the first obstacle and clear jumped over it. "Yay! Pleased, Rose watched and meanwhile Clara took a lot of pictures. Mary-Kate and Fatum rode a fantastic round. Unfortunately, they dropped one bar at the last obstacle but Ashley said it was still a very good round from Mary-Kate and Fatum.
After Mary-Kate there were four more people to go and when they were done Ashley, Rose, Clara and Elizabeth went to look for Mary-Kate who could be found at the trailer.
"Mary-Kate you did so well! Rose ran over to Mary-Kate and she gave her a hug. 'Yes? Did you guys have a good time?' Asked Mary-Kate. 'It was great. Clara took lots of great pictures of you and your horse.' Said Rose. 'Really? Can I see them?' Asked Mary-Kate. 'Of course.' Clara handed Colin's camera to Mary-Kate and with a big smile on her face she looked at the pictures. 'They're really cool.' Elizabeth looked over Mary-Kate's shoulder with her.
'Yeah, I really like these.' Said Mary-Kate. 'Which one?' Asked Clara. Mary-Kate turned the camera around so Clara, Ashley and Rose could see it. 'That one is really cool.' Said Ashley. Clara nodded. 'I'll ask Colin if he can forward them to you.'

'I would really like that. Thank you Clara. Mary-Kate gave the girl a hug. 'Hey, there's Fatum! Rose pointed to the horse who came running towards them with a girl. 'Yes, there's my handsome horse.' Mary-Kate smiled. 'Who is that girl?' Asked Rose curiously. 'My helper for the day. She's helping with Fatum grooming before and after the race.' Explained Mary-Kate.
'Can I ride Fatum?' Asked Rose. 'Rose, you can't just ask something like that.' Hissed Clara. Mary-Kate laughed. 'Would you like to? Questioningly, she looked at Rose. 'Very much so.' Answered Rose. Mary-Kate took off her cap and she handed it to Rose. Rose put it on her head and Ashley fastened the clip. Lisa and Fatum had now joined them.
'This young lady would like a ride on Fatum.' Said Mary-Kate. 'How lucky that I haven't taken his saddle off yet. Can you get on it yourself?' She asked Rose. Rose looked at the horse and she shook her head. 'He's way too high for that.'
Everyone shot up in laughter. 'I'll help you.' Elizabeth lifted Rose up and she put her on the horse. 'Wow.' With a grin from ear to ear, Rose sat on Fatum. Clara took a few pictures while Mary-Kate walked Fatum around the grounds.
'Would you like a lap too? Elizabeth asked Clara. 'Who me? I'd rather not.' Replied Clara. Elizabeth shot up in laughter. 'Who knows next time.'
