Chapter 12: Kiss the Girl.

A few minutes later they were in a boat and Ken was rowing them across the lake while Sonata stared at the scenery with awe.

While they were out on the lake, the girls were on the shore trying to see if any kissing would happen between them.

"Rarity move I can't see what's going on." Sweetie Belle complained as she tried to get around Rarity to see the couple.

"Nothing is happening, darling." Rarity said disappointed as Kenand Sonata did nothing but admire the scenery.

"Man only one day left and that monkey hasn't puckered up once." Rainbow Dash said worriedly.

Fluttershy then got an idea "Don't worry we just need to create the right setting. Spike if you would?" She said before giving Spike a look.

Spike nodded and winked before running off. "Remember just like we practiced." Fluttershy shouted quietly.

All the other girls were confused "Um Fluttershy what have you and Spike been practicing?" Twilight asked curiously.

Fluttershy smiled and turned to her "You'll see." She said before turning back to the direction she was looking at before.

Spike then picked up a stick and held it in his paw like a conductor's wand. Spike then took a deep breath. "Okay time to make some magic." He said as he walked up to a group of pelicans and turtles.

"First we got to create the mood." Spike said all suave before waving his conductor's wand.

Suddenly the birds began to play the turtle's bellies like drums and the wind started to blow the reeds which created a beautiful tune and then Spike began to sing.

Spike:

First we got to create the mood.

Percussion.

Strings.

Winds.

Words.

There you see her

Sitting there across the way

She don't got a lot to say

but there's something about her

And you don't know why

But you're dying to try

you wanna kiss the girl

(As Spike was singing, Sonata saw him behind Kensinging in his ear. Just then Kenturns his head around but Spike disappears "Did you hear something?" He asked, but Sonata just smiled and shook her head like she didn't see anything. Suddenly Spike began singing again with a chorus of turtles next to him.)

Spike: (with chorus joining in)

Yes, you want her

Look at her, you know you do

( As they sang the couple had sad looks on each of their faces as Kenrowed the boat and Sonata played with her hair. But they both smiled when they began to look at each other as Spike continued to sing, this time with a chorus of flamingos behind him.)

Spike: Possible she want you too

There is one way to ask her

It don't take a word

Not a single word

Go on and kiss the girl

(Sonata leaned in to try and kiss Ken but he just backed away and continued to row the boat. Spike then gestured towards the sky for more animals to sing.

"Sing with me, now." He said as birds began to fly above the couple)

Look like the boy too shy

He ain't gonna kiss the girl

Ain't that sad?

Ain't it a shame? Too bad

(Spike and the other animals looked on sadly as the other girls watched from behind as the couple continued to row over the lake. Suddenly after a while Kenspoke. "You know, I feel really bad not knowing your name. Maybe I can guess." He said before meaning back in his seat. "Is it, uh, Mildred?" He asked, before Sonata gave him a disgusted look after hearing the name. Ken chuckled a bit. "Okay, no. How about Diana? Rachel?" He asked, trying to guess her name, but everytime he said one Sonata would just shake her head. Suddenly Spike appeared behind him and whispered her name in his ear. "Sonata. Her name is Sonata Dusk." He whispered, Ken was confused when he heard that voice again. "Sonata?" He said quietly repeating the word the voice said to him earlier. Suddenly Sonata smiled and nodded her head. "Sonata?" Ken asked again with a smile on his face hoping he got the answer right. Sonata nods again, taking one of his hands. "Well, that's kinda pretty. Okay. Sonata." He said looking at her with a smile while taking her other hand.)

Spike:

(Suddenly the animals around them began to watch with hope as they saw the couple lean towards each other, while the last sentence they sang repeats in the background. Rarity smiled and shook her hands in anticipation "Go on darling!" She shouted quietly hoping for the couple to kiss.)

But just as Sonata and Kenwere about to kiss, their boat mysteriously tipped over causing them both to fall into the lake.

Spike could only slap his head in disappointment as the girls looked on with disappointed looks of their own, while all the animals that helped set the mood all flew or swam away in terror.
