Your body jolted awake, and at first, you panicked. You didn't know where you were. But you soon came to realise that you were nestled in soft, silk sheets and a mattress to die for.
When your eyes adjusted, you were shocked to see that the small alarm clock on the bedside table read three a.m. You felt like you had been asleep for hours.
When you rolled over, you couldn't help but wince. Your body ached, and your throat was dry. You guessed it would've been from moaning Kylo's name for what felt like hours prior to you falling asleep.
You needed water, but you were too nervous to venture out into Kylo's home. You would've been ok with not having any, but you needed the bathroom, too.
With a frustrated sigh, you pulled the sheets off you before venturing to the bathroom. Your eyes adjusted to the dark, so there was no need to turn on any lights.
Once you were done, you contemplated on going back to bed, but as you spotted the kitchen from the hallway, your mind made itself up for you. You padded quietly along the floorboards towards the kitchen.
Rummaging around in your boss' kitchen at three in the morning definitely wasn't a thing you had seen yourself doing. You felt a little guilty, it felt strange reaching up into cupboards trying to find a glass to pour yourself some water.
God, where the fuck did he keep his glasses?
"You're awake."
Thank god you didn't find one, because you most certainly would've dropped it on the tiles.
"So are you." You frowned. What kind of stupid comment was that? "Sorry, I just...wanted some water." You said quietly.
You watched as he slowly began walking towards you. He was still in his sweatpants and his t-shirt. You found yourself wondering if he had actually been asleep in the first place.
But his mused hair and tired eyes were a dead giveaway.
Kylo didn't say anything as he cornered you against the bench, his chest only inches away from your own. You swallowed, your body heating up at how close he was. You could smell his natural scent, a hint of expensive shampoo lingering in the air.
You tried to keep your breathing under control as he leant into you, reaching up into a cupboard you hadn't checked yet. His chest was so close to your face, you could even make out the little peaks of his nipples pressing into the fabric of his shirt.
"Thirsty, hm?" He pulled away from you, and suddenly you were able to breathe properly again. You watched as he poured you a glass of water before handing it to you.
You noticed your hand was trembling slightly as you took the glass from him, your fingers brushing over his own. "Thank you." You mumbled.
He didn't say anything, but he stood for a moment, his eyes taking you in. The kitchen was cast in soft blue light from the night and the city lights. It cast Kylo in a dark shadow, and he looked so much bigger standing before you.
You weren't sure what to say to him. It wasn't awkward between the two of you. It just felt like there were so many unspoken words between the two of you. Perhaps it was because when ever the two of you spoke, it ended in an argument of some sort. The two of you weren't really great at small talk.
Kylo quietly turned and exited the kitchen, making his way through his home and leaving you in the kitchen to finish your water.
Your heart still fluttered in your chest at how close Kylo was only moments before. He knew what he was doing. He had to. You just knew if it wasn't so dark, you'd see that mischievous smirk plastered on those plush lips of his.
