The week flew by rather quickly leading up to the party that Ben had organised.

You were flat out at work with a lot of upcoming authors and new works that they were providing. You were actually enjoying work as the manuscripts you have been given were quite good. You happily sat at your desk and typed away, editing any mistakes and making tiny changes here and there at the discretion of the author.

The only downfall was Adeline, obviously. She had gotten slightly bigger and everyone was starting to notice and congratulate her. You on the other hand tried to steer clear of her at all times. The only thing that was making it bearable was knowing it wasn't Kylo's baby as she flaunted her baby bump.

A lot of people suspected it was him, and Adeline wouldn't say that it wasn't his. The office just thought it was a normal occurrence between a married couple. Nobody knew that they were going through a divorce. Nobody except you.

The party was tomorrow and you had just finished lunch and sat back at your desk to finish off the rest of the manuscript Adeline had given you.

Heading Adeline tell employees that her and Kylo are expecting was making you physically ill. You couldn't help but listen every time her voice would spark up from different desks. You had to refrain from rolling your eyes. Everyone was so happy for her, even Ava. But Ava had no idea how cruel and psychotic Adeline is. Ava was talking to you at lunch about it and how excited she is for them. You just had to nod your head and agree.

An hour or so passed and you glanced down at the text message on your phone. It was from Ben, reminding you that the two of you have to head over to the Second tonight to set up for the party. You didn't really want to, but you knew you had to to keep Ben happy.

You responded with a heart emoji and put your phone back down just in time before Adeline stood at your desk. Her bump was beside your head as she let out a little sigh.

You turned to look up at her.

She was absolutely glowing. She was in a black dress and heels, her chest only slightly bigger than normal and her hair was tied into a pony tail. Her hair was so thick and shiny that you were almost jealous. But you realised she only looked that good because she was pregnant.

Not something you were jealous of.

"Hi," you fake smiled.

"Hi," she smiled back, equally as fake. "How's the manuscript coming along?"

"Good," you nodded. "It's actually a really good read."

"That's great. You doing anything this weekend?" She tilted her head.

You weren't sure if there was any malice behind her comment. You weren't sure if it was a good idea to tell her what was going on.

"Um...just something small for Ben's parents. It's their anniversary." You said chewing on the inside of your cheek.

"Oh beautiful." She smiled. "Is Kylo going to go?"

Your blood turned to ice. She was interrogating you now.

"I don't know. Ben hasn't heard from him. But I doubt it." You said plainly. That wasn't a lie either. Neither of you had heard from Kylo all week. You were starting to get worried. What if something bad has happened to him since he killed those two men? You had messaged him and asked if he's ok, but you got no response back.

"That's a shame. I'm sure his parents would love for him to be there." She sighed.

That made you want to stand up and slap her across the face. But you knew better.
