Warnings: slight mentions of drugs and weapons.
The sound of your phone ringing in the distance startled you.
You quickly sat up, realising you were still in Kylo's room. He was still fast asleep beside you.
You were able to quickly admire him as he slept peacefully. He was lying on his stomach, the sheets falling around his waist giving a clear view of his muscled, scarred back. His dark hair hung around his face and his lips were parted slightly as he snored softly beside you.
You could stare at him all day, but the loud ringtone of your phone was echoing in the kitchen.
You were surprised it didn't wake him up as you darted out of bed, quickly grabbing your sweater to pull over your head as you jogged out to answer your phone.
Your heart fell to the pit of your stomach when you saw Ben's name on the screen.
You swallowed thickly before answering it.
"Hey,"
"Hi," he sounded groggy as he groaned down the line. "Where are you? You didn't call or text me last night."
"I know I'm sorry," you sighed as you made your way over to the floor-to-ceiling windows to peer out at the city. "I ended up staying at Kylo's. I didn't want to leave him alone after what happened."
You figured there was no use lying to him. Besides, you didn't want to lie and say you were at home if he had already managed to get himself there and catch yourself out.
"Right," he said lowly.
"Nothing happened, Ben." You said quietly. "He offered to get me an Uber home but I said no. I was just worried about him. He was really upset about everything."
"Ok," he was quiet for a moment. "Well, I'm going to help mom and dad clean up and I can pick you up later on my way home?" He said. You could just imagine his hair in a tangled mess as he sat up in bed, probably still in the clothes he wore that night.
"If it's too much trouble I can just get an Uber home, or Kylo might drop me off, I don't know. I'll let you know." You said, pressing your forehead against the cool glass of the window.
Your eyes still burned from crying last night. Your body felt so heavy with raw emotion. You were exhausted.
"Ok," Ben mumbled. "What's Kylo doing?"
"He's still asleep, I think," you said. "He was really upset, Ben. I know it's none of my business but Han had no right to do that to him."
"I know." He said quietly. "I'll be talking to him today about it."
"What happened with Luke?"
"What about him?" You could practically hear him frowning down the line.
"Did he...say anything about Kylo?"
"No, why?"
Your heart sank in your chest. You kept forgetting that Ben didn't know the full story behind Luke and Kylo.
"Just asking." You shrugged to yourself, hating the way your heart was aching and taking your breath away. "I love you, Ben." You said softly.
There was a brief pause in the conversation.
"I love you, too." He mumbled before he hung up.
You sighed and brought the phone away from your ear. He didn't sound all that impressed that you stayed at Kylo's. You can see why he'd be upset, but you seriously couldn't leave Kylo alone after what happened.
