My Enemy? (O/C x Jinx)

Chapter 4

"How can this day get any worse?" Echo thought to himself as he ran through the streets of the Lanes.

Other thoughts of him being set up crossed his mind but he shook those off because she seemed genuine in their short time together.

"Why the fuck did I kiss her cheek? To spite that bastard Silco?" He questioned himself as he continued running.

He took a turn and ran into a dead end, it was about to become a literal dead end if he couldn't figure out how to get out of here.

"Shit. Guess it's back to climbing again." He said as he looked up at the building behind him.

He started climbing up the building and by the time Silco's thugs got to him he was about 45% of the way up the building before he noticed them.

"Gotta climb faster, come on arms and legs don't fail me now." He said to himself, still climbing.

A bullet then hits close to his hand making it slip off but he grabs the iron leg on a balcony with his other hand.

"Just fall and make this easier on us all. You aren't worth a bullet, Vander Jr." The woman yelled up at him, laughing with the others.

He gave her a middle finger with his free hand, earning another bullet towards him. He looks towards closer buildings and noticed he can safely land on the roof next to him.

As he jumps he looks down at the roof "Oh shit, this is gonna hurt."

Instead of landing on the roof as he planned, he crashes through it surprising the inhabitants inside. He slowly gets up but doesn't get far before he notices he's limping.

"Best day ever." He sarcastically says out loud, further scaring the people in the room with him.

He hears the door downstairs crash open and then he looks at his fists as the only answer left.

"Strike with precision, not just raw strength and anger." Vander's words played in his mind.

"Alright. Guess I'm doing this with a fucked up leg." He said before cracking his knuckles and neck.

As he focused himself the door to the room he was in opened. Just before striking the person he opened his eyes to see Jinx.

"What the-" He said before being pulled down the stairs, painfully, and out of the house by her.

"Come on. I'm trying to save you." She said pulling him along with her.

The flashback of that night came back to him as he just zoned out again, this forced her to put his arm around her neck and help him along. The two just barely got out of the group's sight as they went into the house to find him.

Echo was still zoned out until her felt a slap on his face. Rubbing the cheek he snapped back to reality.

"The hell were you thinking?" Jinx angrily questioned him.

"That... is a really good question." He said realizing his stupidity and laughing at himself.

There was a brief moment of silence after he was done laughing at himself.

"With all those years I traveled and learned you'd think I'd learn not to do that again." He said as he laughed at himself once again.

She laid her head on his shoulder which, once again, caught him off guard.

"Did you find someone on your travels?" Jinx asked him out of no where.

"Well there was this one girl, reminded me of you in a way. That's... that's why I left that place as fast as I did without saying a single goodbye to anyone, even her." Echo said with a tone of shame and sadness in his voice.
