My Enemy? (O/C x Jinx)

Chapter 15

Echo woke up, but he didn't shoot up because Jinx was holding onto him. He began to scan the room, it was the same as before he went to sleep and his worry so began to subside as he let his racing mind calm down.

He laid there on that bed thinking about the last months especially how hard it must've been on both Jinx and Vi, a frown formed on his face as he thought about it.

A small rock that fell snapped him out of his thoughts as he threw one of his knives at the location just above where the rock fell and noticed he'd caught someone's clothing. He gently shook Jinx awake which causing her to yawn.

"I need you to get as far away from here as you can. Don't look back, I can't afford to lose you too." Echo said when he saw she was fully awake.

"What's going on?" Jinx asked slightly confused.

"An ambush. Please, just go. She'd kill you like she wants to kill me." He said just as the knife he threw came back and hit went into his hand causing him to yell out in pain.

This finally made Jinx realize the severity of the situation and caused a familiar look Echo knew.

"I can help." Jinx said before dodging an object being thrown at her.

"I know you can, especially now, but I love you too much to let anything happen to you again." Echo said as he hugged her and pushed her out of the cave before the entrance collapsed.

Jinx began to remove stone after stone when she heard Echo yell out "Which one of you bastards want a shot first?"

She quickened her pace before she heard someone approaching from behind her.

"You must be Jinx." The voice said as it got closer.

Inside the cave Echo begins taking down any man or woman in his path, he's on a warpath to get to Kaylin when he hears her voice on the other side of the caved in entrance he's been back up to.

"I've got your new girlfriend lover boy, better give yourself up if you don't want no harm to come to her." Kaylin threatened him.

"You've only got one guy left standing in here and how should I know you actually have her." Echo panted in response back at her as the last guy charged him.

"Don't listen to her." Echo heard Jinx say which made him freeze as the guy tackled him against the wall.

Echo began taking shot after shot as he stood there shocked, that was until he heard the ever familiar voice of Silco.

"Let it take control, you can't win without it."

Echo now fought a war on two fronts, his own mind again and the external threat. He finally snapped out of it and balled up his fist to punch the guy as hard as he could on the back of his head. When he had punched the guy he heard something crack, he didn't think he had that much strength behind the blow and when he looked down he saw the man's eyes glossed over.

The thud of the body was audible enough to hear through the rocks that blocked the entrance, though Kaylin thought it was Echo whose body was the one that made the thud so she smiled to herself.

"Come on out with his body, you'll be rewarded greatly for this." Kaylin said as she held the struggling Jinx in her arms.

Tears rolled down Jinx's face, she thought that this time she was what killed him. That was until both her and Kaylin looked up and saw an airship directly above them. A familiar pink haired female stood on the edge before jumping off and landing in front of them.

"Let her go." Vi growled as she gritted her teeth and began forming a fist with the Hextech gauntlets she had.

"Who are you?" Kaylin asked confused.

"Her older sister." Vi responded as she started walking towards them.

"Stop or I will kill her like I had him killed." Kaylin said as she pulled a knife and held it to Jinx's throat.

This made Vi stop dead in her tracks, there's no way she could've killed Echo but the look on her sister's face told her that she basically had.

There was a loud yell from inside the cave that pulled all three's attention to the falling rocks at the entrance. Kaylin looked with a face of disbelief while both Jinx and Vi looked on with faces of relief as Echo came stumbling out.

"You can't kill me that easily you coward." He said, leaning against the wall for support, towards Kaylin.

Kaylin dropped Jinx as she charged at him drawing her blades. He just laughed as he dodged her attack before looking at his arm and seeing a small cut.

"Poisoned blades, you never surprise me." Echo said taunting her.

"In that case, how are you still alive?" Kaylin asks surprised.

"Simple really, I took little ounces of poison everywhere I went everyday until I built up an immunity to them." He said with a grin on his face.

She charged at him again but this time enraged and again he dodged her. He pushed her aside as he dodged her which sent her towards a tree. Akali was watching from the distance as all this unfolded and sighed.

"Why's he not hitting her?" Jinx asked Vi as they watched.

"Apparently they dated and he just left out of the blue one day." Vi said as she placed a hand on her sister's shoulder and continuing "But that doesn't mean he still has a thing for her before you get worried."

"Kaylin, just drop this already. I already told you that you're like a sister to me and I don't want to hurt you damn it." Echo yelled at Kaylin as she came in for another attack.

Echo knew his words were useless but he figured he'd try anyways. He could see the tears falling from her eyes after each attack and it hurt him that much more.

"You want to do this that bad? Then here's your shot." Echo yelled at her as he held out his hands and didn't move.

Jinx noticed this but was too late to stop him as Kaylin thrusted the blades into his gut causing him to fall over. He heard Jinx and Vi run over, Jinx was panicking and had tears rolling down her face and hitting him.

"Don't cry, Bluejay. You'll find another me because you're perfect." Echo said as he weakly reached his hand up and placed it against her cheek.

Vi stood there in shock at what happened, she didn't want to believe he gave up but she just couldn't think otherwise.

Echo closed his eyes and knew this was the last time he'd see both of them again. Old memories began to play out in front of him, the good memories he had of everyone. A tear rolled down his cheek as his breathing eased.
