Ch.6

The next day, I woke up and started to get ready for school. I put on my black and white tribal printed top with some cranberry colored jeans since it was beginning to be fall and that was my favorite fall color. I also put on my white converse and kept my hair in natural waves. I also put on some shimmery eyeshadow and mascara and left for school.

When I got there, I saw Matt by my locker. He looked adorable as always. He was wearing a black tee shirt with some khakis and vans. Classic Matt. When I walked up to him, he gave me a kiss on the cheek.

"Hey gorgeous." He told me.

I started to blush.
"Good morning Matthew."

When I grabbed all of my stuff, Matthew took my hand and we walked to class.

When I walked in, I felt Nicole stare at me. She saw that I was holding Matt's and hand her mouth dropped open.

I mouthed to her. "I will tell you later." And she nodded her head.

"Are my you doing anything tonight? My parents said they want to meet you." I asked him.

"I don't think so, I will be over at 7:00." He answered and winked. Ah my it kills me when he winks.

For dinner, I decided to wear my black leggings with a gray and white Aztec printed top. I also just french braided my hair and walked downstairs. My mom had decided to make some parmesan chicken. For a side she just had some garlic bread. My mom and dad were pretty strict on me. I hope they liked Matt.

A little bit later, I heard a knock on the door. I opened it up to see Matt. He was wearing a blue short sleeved button down shirt. He was also wearing some khakis and vans. He looked great, but also nervous.

"Hi!" I told him and gave him a hug.

"Hi." He answered back.

My mom and dad were standing behind me.
"Mom, Dad, this is Matthew." I told them.

"Nice to meet you." Matt said and put his hand out. My parents shook his hand.

"Come Matthew. Sit." They said as I we sat down next to each other.

Once we started eating, it was silent for a moment.
"So Matthew," my dad started.

"What are some of your hobbies?"

"I don't have too many but I guess I enjoy just hanging out." Matt answered.

"What about school work?" My mom asked.

"Oh, I don't worry about that too much. It brings me stress."

Terrible answer Matt.

"Oh I see." My dad answered with a chuckle.

We were silent for a moment.
"This is amazing dinner Mrs.Linley." Matt said.

"Thank you." She answered. I looked over at Matt. He looked pretty nervous. I was too.

After a lot of questions about Matt, it was time for him to go.

He said goodbye to parents and I walked outside with him towards his car.
"Oh gosh I hope they like me." He told me.

"I think they will I mean, what's not to like." I told him. A smile grew on his face.

"I guess I will see you soon okay?" I told him.

He nodded his head.
"Goodnight." He said.

"Goodnight." He then leaned in for a kiss. It was small but sweet. I smiled at him and he got in his car.

When I walked back in, I saw my mom and dad on the couch.
"Ava we need to talk to you." My mom said.

I walked over to the chair next to them and sat down.
"So about Matthew, I'm not so sure he is the right fit for you." My dad said.

When I heard those words come from his mouth, my eyes got big.
"What do you mean?"

"I feel that he is a distraction to you. He also doesn't seem like such a good influence." My mom said.

"Mom, he is amazing! Don't you see that?" I told her. I started to feel tears growing in my eyes.

"He seems nice but not for you. He seems to be a rebellious kid."

"What if I like that huh?" I told them.

"We don't want you to hang out with him anymore."

"You can't stop me!" I yelled and started to walk towards the door.

"Ava, stop it!" My dad yelled.

"No! I will not leave Matthew! You guys just don't understand!" I yelled and slammed the door and got in my car.

I felt tears start to run down my face. Why would they not like Matt? He wasn't a bad influence on me! That's something I love about Matt and I. We are so different and it works.

Soon, I pulled up into Matt's driveway. I knocked on the door. A minute later, Matt came to the door. He had already changed out of his clothes and was in some sweats. His hair was also all messed up.

When Matt saw me, worry came to his eyes. He pulled me into a hug.
"Ava, what's wrong?" He asked me while putting his fingers threw my hair.

"Can I stay here tonight?" I asked him.

"Of course. Come in." He told me. When I walked in we went up to his room.

"Here, do you want to borrow some of my sweats?" He asked me.

I nodded my head and Matt gave me some clothes to go change into. When I went into the bathroom to change, I looked in the mirror. I had mascara running down my face and my hair was a mess. I went to his sink and tried to wash as much of it off as possible. I also put my hair into a high ponytail. When I put on Matt's clothes, they were big and baggy. They also smelt really good.

When I walked out, Matt was on his bed. When he saw me, he opened his arms for me to go cuddle next to him. When I sat down, Matt's arms wrapped around me.

"Now, tell me what's wrong?"

"When you left, my parents told me they don't want me to see you anymore."

"What, why?" He asked.

"They said you're a bad influence and that you're just a distraction."

I heard Matt sigh.

"So, I got really mad and told them that I wasn't just going to leave you. And now I'm here." I explained.

"Matt, trust me. I really like you and there is no way my parents are pulling us apart." I told him.

"I'm not going to let you leave me." He told me and kissed my forehead.

Soon, it got late so Matt and I decided to go to sleep. I laid next to him and he wrapped his arms around me. It felt so nice to have Matt.

There was no way my parents could take me away from him.
