Ch.9

Today was a very special day.

It was my birthday!
I was turning 17! When I woke up, I saw a text from Matt.

Matt♡- Happy Birthday Beautiful. I hope it's as amazing as you (and that's a lot) I love you more than the world.

I smiled. I was so lucky to have Matt.

Me- Than you Matt! I love you so much❥

I then hopped out of bed and got dressed. Since it was now October, I put on my cream colored sweater with a maroon scarf. I also wore my dark wash skinny jeans with some maroon converse. I went into the bathroom and put on some mascara. I also loosely curled my hair and walked downstairs.

When I walked down, I was greeted by my mom and dad.
"Happy Birthday sweetie!" They told me and gave me a big hug. My dad was holding some flowers and handed them to me. They were beautiful.

"Thank you guys!" I told them.

Here sit on the couch, so we can give you your gifts." My dad told me.

I sat down on the couch and picked up a box. When I ripped the wrapping off, I saw a cardboard box. When I opened it, I saw a grey shirt that had a cream colored lace trim on the bottom. I also pulled out a white and black polka dot skater skirt. It was adorable. Lastly I pulled out a light pink Polaroid camera. I was so excited! I had always wanted a Polaroid and now I had one! (plus it's light pink! How cute!)

"Thank you guys so much! I love you!" I told them and gave them a hug.

"You're welcome sweetie. What are you wanting to do today?" They asked me.

"I really might just chill and see what Matt is up to." I told them. They nodded their heads and got off of the couch and began working on what they needed to.

After a little while, I got a text from Nicole.

Bestfriend❁- Happy Birthday girl! I have plans for us. Be ready in 10 minutes!:)

Me-Thank you! And okay;)
I answered her and went upstairs to my room.

I was already ready from when I got dressed this morning but, I did a few touch ups. Put on perfume, a little more lip gloss, and refueled a few pieces of hair. A little bit later, I heard a knock at the door.

I walked down and opened the door to see Matt standing there. He was wearing a navy blue Aztec printed button down short sleeved shirt. He also had on some khakis and vans. His hair was in his usual quiff.

"Happy Birthday Ava!" He told he and gave me such a big hug my feet were off the ground.

"Matt, what are you doing here?" I asked him.

He gave me a short kiss on the lips.
"I am here to take you on a fun day for your birthday." He told me. I felt really bad.

"Matt, you know I would love to but, Nicole just asked me to hang out with her." I then heard a honk from a car. It was Nicole in Matt's car!

"Get in loser, we are all going to hang out!" I heard Nicole yell from the backseat.

I felt a smile grow on my face. I grabbed Matt's hand and got in the passengers seat while Matt started to drive.

"You guys are the best!" I told them while I bent back and gave Nicole a hug and Matt a kiss on the cheek.

"We know." Nicole said with a grin on her face.

"So, where are we going?" I asked them.

"You will find that out when we get there!" I was a little nervous. We didn't have the same likings. They were more adventurous and I was more low key.

Soon, we arrived to a zoo. I was really excited! I loved the zoo! It seemed so amazing that animals like that actually exist.
"Guys, I love the zoo!" I told them.

Matt smiled as he put some sunglasses on for the beautiful sunny day.

I hopped out of the car and grabbed Matt's hand. Nicole walked beside me.

When we walked in, we saw the Lions first. They were kinda sleepy and not too active. Then we looked at the Jaguar. Which was probably my favorite animal at the zoo. They were so beautiful! Then, we walked towards the Giraffes. They were so amazing! Soon, one of the zoo workers came over to us.

"Are you all interested in feeding the giraffes?" I looked at Matt and Nicole.

"Do you guys want to?" I asked them. I'm sure they wouldn't say no because the look on my face was enough to tell them that I wanted to.

"Sure!" They answered and I jumped a little. I was so excited!

When they gave us the food to feed the giraffes, it was really funny because they had super long tongues and are all of the food in just about one lick! It was a really cool experience.

When we left the giraffe part, I started jumping up and down from excitement. Matt and Nicole laughed at me.
"Guys this was awesome! Thank you for taking me." I told them.

"No problem!" Nicole answered and smiled.

Later that day, Nicole gave me a birthday present but told me not to open it in front of her. She always felt awkward when people opened gifts she gave to people. Then, Matt took me to my house to hang out for a while.

When he came in, we sat on the couch and he handed me a gift.
"Matt, you didn't have to get me anything!" I told him.

"Of course I did you're my girlfriend and my best friend." He answered.

I blushed and looked at the box. It was wrapped in real wrapping paper. When I ripped it open, I saw a small box. When I opened the wooden box, I saw a necklace that was a heart. On the heart, there was a M and A.

"Matt, it's beautiful." I told him. I took it out of the box and Matt put it on my neck.

"I love it and I'm never taking it off." I told him. A smile grew on his face.

"I'm glad you like it." He answered and grabbed my hand.

"Although, there is one thing I like more than the necklace." I told him.

"What is it?" He told me with a worried look on his face.

"You!" I answered. He smiled his amazing smile and leaned in to kiss me.

Right after the kiss, I told him,
"Thank you for giving me the best brith day ever."

"I love you." He replied. I smiled and kissed him again.

Ah Matthew, the best boyfriend ever.
