Ch.17

It's Wednesday. The week is halfway over.

I woke up and looked at my phone.

No morning text from Matthew.

I felt my heart hurt for a second and tried to get over it.

I turned on some music and 18 by One Direction came on. I walked towards my closet and picked out a black flowy skirt and a while chevron top. For my shoes I put on some black flats. I curled my hair and put on my basic makeup and walked out the door for school.

When I showed up, Matt wasn't by my locker. I looked around a little. Then I saw something.

He was at Molly's locker.

My heart hurt a little more.

I tried to get over it. When I walked into class, Matt sat next to me.

"Morning!" He said.

"Morning." I answered as I looked over at Nicole and talked to her. I told her what all has been going on and now she has a hatred for Matt.

"What's up? Sorry I didn't get to take you home yesterday Molly needed me."

I felt my heart hurt a even more when he said that.

"It's fine." I said and looked away.

Matt didn't say much to me.

Then I saw Molly walk in.

Great. I forgot she had every class with Matthew.

His face lit up when he saw her.

There I felt pain in my heart again.

She sat down next to him and they started talking up a storm. I was jealous. But now I was mostly sad.

I didn't talk to Matt the rest of the day. Until the end of the day. When I was at my locker, I saw him show up. I was so happy! He finally remembered me!

"Uh, hey Ava, I am sorry but I can't take you home today."

My heart hurt more again.

"Oh, why?" I asked him while I shut my locker.

"Well, Molly's dad can't pick her up and she can't walk home so I have to take her. I'm sorry."

Seriously. No couldn't be more mad at Matt right now.

Don't let him think you're jealous.

"Oh okay, that's fine." I told him trying not to act upset.

"You're the best. I love you." He said and gave me a kiss on the cheek.

When he left, I texted Cameron.

Me-hey, can you pick me up again. He ditched me.

Cameron☻- oh my, on my way to you right now.

Not even a minute later, Cameron showed up at my locker.

"Hey Ava." He said really gently.

"Hey Cameron." I told him.

"Come on, I'm driving you to Matt's house and you are going to ask him about everything tonight."

I nodded my head and walked to his car.

"Can you drop me off at my house first? I want to put on some comfier clothes." I asked him.

Cameron didn't mind and drove me home.

When I walked in, I changed into some black leggings and a pink Adidas sweatshirt and some converse. I put my hair in a side braid and walked back to Cameron's car.

"Ready?" He asked me.

I nodded my head and then he started to drive towards Matt's.

When I showed up, I saw some lights on and then his car was in the driveway.

"Okay, you're going to go in there,and explain exactly like you feel to him. Got it?" He told me.

"Got it." I told him and got out of the car.

I walked up to his door and opened it. I never had to knock on the door because he usually expects me to be there.

I opened the door and saw Matt.

And Molly.

Then my heart completely broke.

They were laughing and laying on the couch. Molly was practically sitting on his lap.

When I saw them I felt my jaw drop. Matt looked up at me and his smile fell from his face.

Molly looked at me with a worried look. Then she looked at Matthew.

"Ava, hey-" I cut him off.

"Sorry I interrupted your night." I said. Tears started running down my face.

"Ava, wait." He told me.

"No, it's fine. Don't worry about me. You were busy with Molly anyway." I told him and I shut the door and ran to Cameron's car.

"Ava-" Cameron started.

"Just take me home please." I told him while I put my face in my hands and started bawling.

Cameron didn't ask any questions and started driving me home.

When he showed up to my house, I was still bawling.

I hopped out of the car and walked inside. Cameron walked in with me.
I fell to onto the couch and cried more.

Cameron came over to me and pulled me into a hug.

"Shh, don't cry. What happened Ava?"

I tried to stop crying.
"Cameron, you don't have to be here. You can leave." I told him wiping my eyes.

"What happened?" He asked me ignoring my request for him to leave.

"I walked in and saw them together. They were laughing and watching a movie. She was practically sitting completely on his lap. When I walked in they were shocked to see me which made me thing that they kissed or something." I told him.

"I just don't understand. What did I do to make him do this? Why would he just completely forget about me because- because of some other girl? Why can't he just tell me he doesn't want me anymore?" I told him more.

Cameron hugged me tighter while I got tear stains on his shirt.

"I don't know Ava. I honestly don't know. You are amazing and Matt doesn't deserve you. You shouldn't be treated like this. Matt is the biggest idiot in the world. Don't let him get you down okay? He's not worth your tears." He said.

I looked up at Cameron. He took his thumb and wiped the tears away from my eyes.
"Don't worry okay. I'm here for you. You always have me."

I hugged him tight.
"Thank you so much Cameron." I told him.

We didn't say much more.

Matthew Espinosa broke my heart.

And I don't know if it can be fixed.
