The Lies We Tell

Chapter 25:

Liam's POV:

I held Addison's cold body against my chest as I got into the car once again. I couldn't control it anymore. It's not fair! She shouldn't have to suffer, she shouldn't have to give her life.. Why must you do this, why must you take my light away. My Addison is the sun, she is the moon, and everything in between. Why must it end in ruins? Why must my loyalty be challenged? Can't I be faithful to my leader as well as my love? They did this so I must choice between the life of my alpha or the owner of my heart. My very existence I would give for her.. I felt her stir in my arms and a horrid whimper escape from her mouth. I could sense her pain, I could take it. I grasped her arm tightly and felt the agony she must be experiencing.

"Agh!" I yelp in pain. She whimpered once more and cuddled into my chest. I could feel the moon effecting my every move. No. Not tonight, not if it was to be my last night with her.

The rest of that car ride seemed like a blur as we arrived in Mexico. I rushed around in attempt to find Scott. He was my last chance and I knew my time was running thin. I had to find him.. I looked at the vehicle Addi laid in dying one final time before running inside the ruins of the church.

"We'll find him." Stiles reassured me. I just nodded and felt my hope run out. I ran and ran and soon the berseekers came out. They did this to me, they killed Addison. I will end them, I will avenge her. That's when I noticed him. Scott, he was in one of the suits, he was one of them. The epic battle scene was cut a little short for me though.. At the sounds of my girlfriends final gasps, I ran to her. I held her in my arms as everything died down.

"It h-hurts..." She whimpered, her little body shaking in pain. "E-every-thing.." I could hear Scott's voice now, asking Stiles where I was. Tears stained every part of my shirt as I held her close. "Li-Liam, th-is is...." She was forcing out every last word. I just shook my head and I kept saying no. It's the only word I knew at the moment. "Li-.. I... You..." I felt her grasp my shirt and watched her eyes. They slowly began to flutter shut and I kissed the top of her head.

"No, no, no, no, no, please, God no." I bawled. Her little body became still and her breath faded into nothing and I felt my friends begin to gather behind me and watch as my lover perished. I stroked my hand against her cold cheek. What would I tell her family? What would I do without her? I hugged her against me and cried as if it would bring her back and just then a miracle happened... Her eyes popped open, glowing a magnificent shade of purple, and she gasped for a breath of air. Everyone stared down at her with shock as her purple eyes faded. I pulled her into a huge hug, nuzzling my head into the crook of her neck and kissing it gentle.

"What are you?" I asked.
