Chapter 6:

I whimpered as I regained my consciousness. Everything was blurred but I could hear the faint mumbling of someone. When my vision and hearing cleared up a little bit I could tell I was being carried.

"Shit. This is my fault. Shit." Liam's voice mumbled. I could see the anger welling up inside of him. He held me a little bit closer as his anger changed to sorrow.

"Liam it's not your fault. Garrett was targeting her anyways.... She was on the second list...." Scott said.

"HOW COULD YOU NOT TELL ME THAT?" Liam yelling, instantly becoming furious. I stared at him and watched his eyes glow the bright yellow. His arms tightened their grip on me, making me squirm.

"Li?" I whimpered. He looked down at me and smiled. His eyes returned to normal and he caressed my cheek. I smiled at him. "Are you okay?" I asked him. I knew he could hear my concern in my shaky voice. He forced out a chuckle.

"I'm fine Addi, but your in pretty rough shape." He said. "Listen. I'm sorry about everything. I never wanted you to get hurt or see me like th-"

"Liam." I interrupted. He looked down at me with a truly upset face. "This, you, nothing will change how I feel about you. Nothing. You're not the monster you think you are, you're just different. A good kind of different." I said. I felt a sharp pain in my stomach and whimpered.

"Liam we have to get her to Deaton." Scott said.

"We have to get her to a hospital!" Liam snapped back.

"Deaton is trained with humans too, plus you need to get to Deaton before it reaches your heart." Scott said back calmly.

"Before what reaches his heart???" I asked in a panicked voice.

"Nothing. Just wolfsbane, Deaton will handle it. Don't worry, I promise." He said trying to calm me down. I watched as his eyes glowed again but this time for a different reason.

"Liam it's kicking in.... We have to hurry." Suddenly my stomach started burning. The pain began almost unbearable. I tried to confine the pain but as soon as I cringed Liam knew. He picked up speed as I grabbed his shirt tightly. Tears filled my eyes as we arrived at the vet. Deaton slipped us in through the back and cared for Liam first. It was a quick procedure and he was unconscious the whole time. All they did was cut a slit into his chest. A puff of yellow powder floated out of his chest and I watched as the cut healed itself. I was fascinated. Deaton helped me next. He put rubbing alcohol on my wound making me scream and then bandaged it up. He put something else on it though. I couldn't tell what it was but it eased the pain a lot.

"Thank you." I said very gratefully. He smiled and said that there was no need to thank him. I did anyways. I walked back over to where Liam was laying and smiled. He looked so peaceful. I pushed the hair out of his face and place a quick kiss on his forehead. He's not getting rid of my that easily.

"Addison?" Scott's voice asked from behind me. I turned and looked at him. "He's telling you to stay away from him for your safety. He can't control his change yet, he was just bitten a couple weeks ago." I looked down. "He's a werewolf, Addison. He could hurt you."

"I'm not scared! Scott I'm in this now, there's no getting rid of me!" I said letting my frustration out. He was taken back a bit but just shook his head. I let out a sigh and looked back at Liam who was starting to come too. "Hey." I whispered. He looked straight at me.

"Hey. How is it?" He asked looking at my bandage.

"It's better." I said and he smiled. I let out a huge yawn as I knelt down beside him. I watched as he turned on his side. "I might walk home..." I whispered before letting out another yawn.
