Chapter 5:

I ran through the pictures I took until the game ended. Unable to even focus on the ending of the game, I ran down by Liam. I was as close as I could be without coach noticing. After looking at how fine his elbow was now, I started to seriously question myself. After the game was finally over I ran down to where Liam stood and grabbed his arm. I turned it and looked at it. It was in absolutely perfect condition.

"What the hell?" I mumbled to myself. I looked at him wide eyed before turning and grabbing my skateboard from under the bleachers. I had research to do and I have pictures to review.

"Addison!" Liam said making me turn and look at him. "Can we talk?" He asked.

"Can we in a later tonight? I have to go look at something.... like now." I said and took off. I skated home as fast as I could and grabbed my laptop, along with my dagger. I sat on the platform outside my window and typed Beacon Hills Unsolved Cases into the search bar. Tons of results came up since most of the reports and files are considered public. I went back a year ago when all of the unexplained events started. I scanned a certain case that was classified under Animal Attacks. I quickly read through it and came across several extremely graphic pictures but certain words also stood out like, deep, forcefully scratches, severed in half, and most importantly, wolves fur. Wolves haven't been in California in over 60 years. I went through more cases of people spotting unhuman-like creatures in Beacon County. It's almost overwhelming.... I realized instead of reading, I should be looking. I grabbed my camera and looked at the recent photographs. Ignoring Garrett for the time being, I went t the picture with the 3 glowing eyes. I hadn't used flash on these pictures but after I had turned it on beams of light made the photo invisible. I looked from Brett, to Liam, to Scott. 2 pairs of yellow eyes, and one pair of red. I was startled by the sound of Liam's voice below me.

"Addi, we really need to talk." He said before pulling himself up. "Addison." He said. I looked away from my camera to look at him. I gave him an awkward smile before he sat next to me.

"Nice game tonight." I said. I glanced at him quickly.

"Thanks." He said and smiled. "I'm sorry about the girlfriend and kiss thing it was...."

"A total mistake?" I asked trying to say the words for him. "Liam be honest with me."

"I just have a lot going on right now.... and I know I'll just hurt you...." He said looking away from me and sighing. I just shook my head. I bit my lip and nodded. I grabbed my laptop and was about to slip inside my window as he grabbed my hand.

"Addison...." He whispered in such a tortured voice that it sounded like he could almost feel my pain. He gave my hand a squeeze before I slipped it out of his grip. "I just ruined everything, didn't I?" You ruined something....

"No." I lied. I knew he could tell that I wasn't telling anything near the truth.

"Can we just hang out, please?" He asked, his eyes staring into my soul. I nodded and slipped into my room, him following close behind. "Are you all alone?" He asked and I nodded. My parents had left on a business trip earlier today so it would be just me for the next week. I grabbed a movie and put in into the DVD player before taking a seat on my bed next to Liam. I curled up and cuddled into him. If only it could always be like this...

I awoke to the chirping of birds. I yawned and cuddled into the body that lied next to me. Unable to open my eyes yet I just curled up and felt the body shift and tighten it's grip on me. I froze, finally processing that someone was here with me. My eyes shot open to find Liam next to me, completely asleep. I stirred a little bit, trying to find a position I was comfortable in. Finally I relaxed again and noticed how cute he looked when he was asleep. His breathing was gentle, his face twitched ever once and a while, and his small smile that stayed plastered on his face. I felt an ache in my heart as I closed my eyes again.
