Izuku Midoriya looked up at the villain in front of him, scared so bad he couldn't breathe. This wasn't his first time coming face to face with a villain, but it was the first time being pulled up by one and having a knife pressed against his throat as the villain used him as a shield against the hero.
The hero who stood at the end of the alley stopped in his tracks upon seeing the boy. His neck was covered in what appeared to be an excessively long scarf with goggles covering his eyes, "Eraserhead..." the villain hissed, making Izukus stomach flip, "It does not take a quirk to slit a boys throat."
He pressed harder, and Izuku closed his eyes to hide the tears. This was it, he thought to himself. After all the things he had survived, a small time villain would be the one to kill him.
It was quiet for a minute, and the boy couldn't help but peek one eye open to see the hero in front of him smirking. And then, the entire world exploded with sound.
As both the villain and Izuku screamed in pain, the knife fell to the ground. The sound stopped when the villain convulsed on the ground and the boy watched with wide eyes as Eraserheads capture weapon surrounded the villain, "I thought you said you had him?"
Izuku turned as a blonde man appeared, presumably the cause of the unbearable noise. The hero called Eraserhead scoffed, "I did. You interrupted."
The boy realized that it was over. But upon realizing that he wasn't in fact going to die he slowly stepped towards his backpack, trying not to bring attention to himself. He failed miserably however when he accidentally kicked a rock against the wall.
The two men looked at him but before they could react he scooped up his backpack and jumped through the window of the nearest building, smacking his head hard enough to see white when he landed on the concrete. He didn't have time to stop and assess the pain so he stood up and began running. Navigating the building was easy enough when he heard one of the hero's had followed him in through the window.
He assumed that he was following behind him so when he reached the door he hardly had time to skid into a stop in front of the dark haired man. He fell in the process, landing on his butt, "Hello." The hero said awkwardly, scratching his neck. Izuku tried to scramble to his feet but found himself wrapped in the mans scarf, "I didn't mean to scare you," he tries to say gently, "But we need to get you to the hospital and find your parents alright?"
Finally, the boy began to cry. He didn't struggle, he didn't try to run. He just relaxed against the hard floor and sobbed. His head pounded, his ears were bleeding, and the fear of his parents caught up to him, "I'm, I'm sorry!" He sobbed, "Please don't make me go back! Please just let me go!" He begged through his tears.
Aizawas eyes softened as he watched the boy cry. He carefully approached the young boy and keeps his voice low, "Young one." He says catching the attention of the boy.
The green haired child looks up at him and the hero kneels so they are at eye level, "My name is Eraserhead, but my friends call me Shota. I am a pro hero." The boys wailing begins to quiet, though the tears still stain his cheeks. Aizawa whispers, "Being a hero means I'm going to help you, and keep you safe. I personally will make sure that you will not end up with anyone who will hurt you. Do you believe me?"
Izuku sniffles. He did. This mans eyes were kind. And he wanted to. He wanted to trust him. He nodded, wiping his nose on the sleeve of his sweatshirt. The hero gave him a small smile, "Can you tell me your name?" He asks.
"Izu- My name is Izuku, sir."
Outside of the building they can hear a police siren, but Eraserhead calls his attention back to him, "It is very nice to meet you, Izuku." The vehicles arrive and he can hear the first responders run into the alley, "Kiddo, you look very hurt. Can I pick you up and bring you outside so some people can treat your injuries?"
