Izuku was cornered, and the boys were taunting him, "Come on, nerd. You gonna fight back or not?!" One of them says, kicking him in the stomach.
Izuku gasps and closes his eyes out of habit. He wants to go home, to see Bakugo, to see his Dad and Papa. He doesn't want to be here, "He can't! He's nothing but a quirkless loser!" The other one spits, kicking him in the face.
A metallic taste fills his mouth as he begins to cry, "Oh come on!" The first one sneers, grabbing him by the collar, "There's gotta be something special about you to make Bakugo choose a pathetic loser over us!"
He slams the boys head into the ground, making him see stars. He does his best, but he can't stop the tears from flowing down his face. The lunch bell rings, and one of the boys places a hand around his throat, "If you tell anyone about this, I will kick your ass so hard you won't be able to shit for a month!" He lands one last punch before running off to their classroom, leaving Izuku bloody on the ground.
He stands quickly, before anyone else comes into the hall. No one can see how pathetic he is. He rushes to the bathroom where a wave of dizziness hits him, causing him to slide to the ground. He locks the door and rushes to the toilet, vomiting the contents of his lunch into the bowl.
He had become complacent. Completely relying on Bakugo and his dads to protect him. No wonder he was so weak. He sobs even harder when he recognizes the second bell ring. Not only did he just get his ass kicked, but now he had to walk into class looking like the mess that he is. Bakugo was coming back from the doctors next period, and Izuku knew he would be angry.
He carefully picked up his bag, wiping his nose with his sleeve, dark blood staining the blazer. He peeks into the hall and when he confirms no one is there he runs to the nearest open window and begins his journey back to the apartment.
His panic grows the closer and closer he gets. He was going to be in so much trouble. He cried even harder. He unlocked the door with his key and threw his bag on the ground, deciding the best option was to hide for now. His closet was dark, and fear gripped him, but the truth was, no one ever beat him when he was in there.
His heart beats quickly as he climbs to the shelf on top of the rod, and smushes himself between blankets and extra pillows. He was sure no one could get him up here. His father would be furious, but ultimately too lazy to do anything extreme to get him down. He'd come out when he was hungry, but he could last a few days without food, and by then he hoped his injuries would heal enough to withstand another beating.
His body continues to shake, but he feels himself growing slightly calmer with his plan to keep himself safe. No one ever hurt him in here, no one can if they can't reach him. With tears still rolling down his cheeks he fell asleep.
*********
Yamada was horrified when he went to check his messages and one came from Aldora saying that Izuku didn't show up to class. He ran to his husband's classroom who was grabbing papers for the staff meeting, "Shota!" It was almost pathetic how out of breath he was from that short run, "I can't find Izuku- I called the school and the Bakugos, I called the house phone but no one answered-" he cried.
"Wait, wait, what's going on?"
Hizashi explained as quickly as he could, knowing his husband only checked his messages twice a day. The two rush to the car as fast as they could go, sending a message to Nezu that a family emergency had come up.
Aizawa found their apartment unlocked and their son's bag on the floor, "Izuku!" He yells, searching the apartment. Hizashi had driven to the school trying to get more information, "Izuku!"
He opens his sons room to find his closet door open. He opens it wider and flicks on the light, hearing whimpering come from above him, "Izuku," he sighs with relief.
