Yamada shakes his husband awake quietly. He had fallen asleep in a chair while keeping an eye on the boy, which was strangely not the weirdest position the hero had fallen asleep in.
Everytime he wakes his husband up, he glared into his soul trying to kill him with his eyes. But everytime without fail, those eyes softened when he recognized his husband. This time was no different.
Aizawa quietly unravels his scarf a little bit more to leave the room so the two could talk. The door shutting seems impossibly loud on the completely silent floor, "Shota..." he knows that tone of voice, "what did you do?"
Aizawa grumbles at the ground, "I promised I wouldn't leave him."
"That's not a promise you can make!" Present Mic lectures, maintaining awareness of his volume.
The dark haired man grabs his husbands hands, forcing him to pause, "Hizashi. This kid, he's been through hell." He reached up to push a part of his hair back up into the ridiculous style, "Just, meet him first. He's something special, I know it."
He feels a hard tug on the scarf and Yamada raises his eyebrows. Aizawa grabs his hand and enters the room. As soon as the boy recognizes Eraserhead he stops pulling at the scarf. He watches as the two approach slowly, and when Yamada enters the light, Izuku hesitantly covers his ears.
Aizawa smirks, and his husband laughs, "Yeah, little listener, that was me. Im sorry about that." Aizawa can see guilt flash through his eyes.
The two pull up chairs next to the bed, and the blonde introduces himself, "My name is Yamada Hizashi, but most people know me as Present Mic. I was in that alley with you, the one who made all the noise. I promise I'm not normally that loud."
The man beside him scoffs, trying to hide his smile. Yamada turns to him with wide eyes, "Really, Shota?"
"You're always loud, baby."
"But is now the time to say that?!"
They can hear fabric shift and they turn back to the boy on the bed who's grinning widely at the banter between the two. It was the first time he had smiled all night. Aizawa grabs the boys hand, "This is my husband."
***************
Izuku had let Aizawa leave the third day in the hospital, as long as Hizashi stayed with him. Still, when the three came home together after five days it felt as if they hadn't been home in forever. It was only nine in the morning, and it was time for Shotas second cup of coffee- so he walked straight into the kitchen to start a pot. They showed the young boy around the modest apartment. He walks slowly behind the blonde, peeking out from his side every time he says something new.
They show him his room and his eyes light up. Hizashi grins. He had done the majority of the work on the guest room, it wasn't much but it was better than the gray guest room it had been less than a week earlier. The bedding was still gray, but the walls had been painted red and green. There were posters of All Might and Endeavor, due to the lack of time and notice they were the easiest to find.
Hizashi explains they can go shopping for more things in a few days which earns him a nudge from his husband. They have a silent conversation with looks while Izuku explores the room. He reaches the wall with the two posters on it and asks, "Mr. Aizawa?" He yanks the scarf when he points at a poster, grabbing both the men's attention, "Who's that?"
"That would be All Might. He's the number one hero at the moment."
Hizashi laughed and rolled his eyes at his husbands explanation, "All Might is the symbol of peace. He's the best hero in the world because he saves the most people and gives people hope."
