Izuku's shirt is ruined, but he quickly pulls his pants back up to his waist, looking at Dabi with fear. He stares back at him, unmoving.

"I, I don't wanna hurt you," Izuku says quietly, tears still streaming down his face.

He tries to conjure every bit of fear, every bit of longing to go home to his family, to Todoroki, to Bakugo as the man approaches. Trying to work up the nerve to use his quirk on him.

Instead of lighting his flames, Dabi kicks the man in the face.

"The mans a fucking bastard. Lets get you out of here."

On shaky legs he follows the man out of the room. Dabi places a blanket over the shivering boy and he smirks when he notices Izuku's upper body still covered with marks, "You didn't even give him half of what he did to you, did you?"

Izuku shakes his head.

The airs warm when they step outside. Dabi's hand is on top of the boys head with the blanket wrapped around Izuku. The boy pauses, breathing in the air, ignoring any pain from his ribs, instead savoring being outside of the cold building.

The man leads him through alleyways until he stops and turns to Izuku, "Walk through there, and the hospital will be down the block."

He jumps when the kids arms wrap around him. He hears the boy whisper tiredly, "Thank you, Dabi."

The man scowls pushing the boy away and crossing his arms, "You saved me when I was young. I'm returning the favor. I don't owe you anything now."

Izuku smiles, wiping his nose with the blanket, "Right."

"Now get on with it. Tell the cops whatever you want, I don't care. Just don't get caught again," he warns, "Because I'm not gonna help you a second time."

Izuku nods, and approaches the end of the alley, towards the light of the main street. When he turns back, Dabi is gone.

He doesn't feel any pain, any fear, any regret as he walks towards the hospital. All he can think about is seeing his family again.

The adrenaline wears off almost as soon as he enters the doors to the emergency room. He approaches the desk, but the man behind it is already calling for a gurney, nurses helping him lay down.

He tries to stay calm, but every hand that touches him causes pain. He tries to rationalize that they don't mean to hurt him, but he finds himself finding it harder to breathe and hear.

He looks at one of the nurses, "Please. I need you to get Detective Tsukauchi."

When he wakes up, there are two nurses hanging IV bags. His voice comes out scratchy, and he tries to reach for the glass of water himself when he sees the cast on his arm.

The nurse hands to him, and he finishes it quickly before asking for another. While she refills it he asks, "Detective Tsukauchi, did you call him?"

The woman smiles, handing him the glass, "We just got you out of MRI and XRay, baby. We're bring him back now."

Izuku can feel a lump in his throat as he fights back his tears. He drinks more of the water, wishing it was his dads calling him baby instead of a stranger.

Tsukauchi walks in with a nurse, and upon seeing the child on the bed he sprints over before the woman stops him, "We don't have all the results from his tests yet. He's on some pain medication, but he's fragile, so be careful."

The detective nods, and tears fill his own eyes as Izuku reaches out his arms. He hugs him gently, not wanting to hurt the boy more.

Tsukauchi pulls away with a grin, "I need to call your dads!"
