While everyone else worked on their quirks during the training camp, Izuku found himself training with Shinso in physical combat.
The rest of the class could use their quirks to fight, that's why they were working on making them stronger. But Shinso and Midoriya fight quirkless, having no other physical aid other than Shinso's orders and Izukus healing.
They couldn't be supervised the entire time, so the two were being given moves and tricks by many of the teachers and left to practice them on their own. His dad had explained that for the first couple of days that the boys wouldn't be allowed to use any sort of support item, which was frustrating.
Shinso was a good fighter, but like the rest of the class Izuku was one step ahead of him. He had a whole arsenal of tricks, and picked up the new moves easier than Shinso. Though, while Shinso was impressed by the boy, Izuku was amazed by him. Though he lost every match, the purple haired boy had so much force and stamina throughout the fight. Right now the primary difference was speed and confidence.
When Izuku was finally red in the face, and Shinso looked ready to pass out at any second, the boy looked around for any teachers. He understood the danger of his quirk, but there's no reason he couldn't use it on his friend.
Satisfied, he sits crosslegged on the ground, still trying to catch his breath, "Shinso-chan?" He breathes, "Do you know my quirk?"
The boy grimaces as he sits up, putting his head between his knees at dizziness that came with the movement, "No."
"I can transfer peoples pain and injuries into the ground or to other people. Can I use it on you?"
Shinso stiffens, moving his head to turn to the boy with a glare, "Just because I'm from General Studies doesn't mean I'm weak! I can keep fighting without your help."
Izuku's face falls, "That's not what I meant," he wipes the sweat coming down his nose, "My quirk is hard to train because it means someone has to get hurt. I need to work on using it even when I'm tired."
"Oh," Shinso's eyes widen, "Wait, you're tired too?"
They laugh, before Izuku instructs the boy to lay down. He puts himself in a scenario. He had just won a fight, and he was super beat up and exhausted, but a civilian was in an extreme amount of pain, "Alright, Shin- this will probably feel weird."
He grabs the boys wrist and shoves his other hand deep into the ground. The familiar rush of pressure and force fill his body as he takes all the bruises, scrapes, headache from his friend. He leaves the sore muscles, knowing the boy would only be angry at Izuku not having the same advantage. A few minutes later Izuku drops the boys hand, "I'm done. Do you feel better?"
The boy straightens up, testing out his wrist which had been hit during one of their matches while he was trying to defend himself. He smirks, "Yeah. Thank you."
Izuku helps him up, "Yeah, any time- literally any time, I need as much practice as I can get."
The two walk back towards the center of where everyone's training to grab their waters. The slowly sip them when Izuku notices his boyfriend's bottle is still there, having forgotten about it. Shinso watches Kaminari, and Izuku explains he'll be back in a second- running to make sure Todoroki stays hydrated.
His dad stops him right when fire flares less than three feet of them. He gives him an annoyed look, "You're supposed to be training with Shinso."
Izuku can't take his eyes off his shirtless boyfriend sitting in a bathtub breathing heavily, "We stopped for a drink. I just wanted to give this to Todoroki."
He hands his dad the water bottle and watches his boyfriend, amazed at the eruption of ice and flames when Aizawa orders, "Get back to work, Izuku."
