Trigger Warning: Violence and Gore (I'm going to be describing an injury in detail)

Peter observed the situation from afar, trying to analyze what he should do. The situation wasn't a normal one, and it sure as hell wasn't in the gray area Tony had once brought up to the kid. That wasn't what Peter was thinking about right now. He was thinking about how he hadn't finished the job he once started. It felt like so long ago now, though it was only a few months ago. The night Peter took down Toomes, Liz's dad. The night Peter fought The Vulture all by himself. He had never felt so alone and powerless other than that night, but he still overcame him. He proved to himself and everyone else who doubted him that he was strong enough to do it without the suit Tony made him. Though, when it came to the suit, it was surely an asset during battle.

He pulled himself back to the present as he stared at what was in front of him. There were two men, one he didn't recognize, with some of the alien tech that Toomes and his goons had helped him make. It looked like one of the powerful ones that split the ferry boat in half and that destroyed Delmont's Sub Shop. It was highly dangerous, and he knew that. So, logically, he knew he should probably call for some back up. Tony had told him that if he ever needed anything just to give him a call. Happy was also on speed dial. He could call any of the Avengers if he really wanted to; all he had to do was ask Karen to do it.

Per Tony's request, he wanted Peter to stay in contact with him. Despite turning down the offer to officially become an Avenger, he was pretty much almost an Avenger. No, he didn't live at the compound. No, he didn't go on formal missions like the rest of the Avengers did. But, he did help save so many people. He was also there on a regular basis. He wasn't originally. For the first two months, he would call Tony and Happy, and that was it. Otherwise, he stayed in Queens. One weekend he had to use his parachute and when he tried to reinstall it, it just wasn't working. He called Tony, and Tony just asked him to come up. He had to ask May first. She was still very hesitant on the whole Spider-Man thing, but Peter managed to convince her that he was safe and if anything happened he would alert her or Tony right away, she seemed satisfied enough. Well, as satisfied she could be with Peter putting himself in danger almost everyday. She gave him permission.

Once Peter got upstate, Tony took him down to the lab and helped him reinstall the parachute. They also worked on some other things for the suit. Together. Tony really enjoyed himself, watching Peter tinker with his help, and Peter thought it was one of the greatest things ever. It was late by the time they were done, so Tony told him to just spend the night. They never put anyone else in the room that was supposed to be Peter's. So, he took him up to the living quarters, where he met half of the Avengers. It was so nice to meet them without fighting and being at odds. There was still some awkwardness that couldn't be ignored, and Peter felt on edge sometimes when he was with Steve or Bucky. But it was overall a safe, happy environment. That night was amazing. And when he woke up the next morning, Tony offered for him to come over and tinker some more the next weekend. Peter happily accepted.

As the weeks continued, they worked on Peter's suit, as well as Tony's, and so many other small projects. Peter built his first radio from scratch, along with a toaster, a clock, and a small robot. He named it Gilbert. The robot wasn't the smartest and seemed to be best friends with Dum-e. Tony found it hilarious. One of the days they were working on Peter's suit, Peter let it slip that he had been caught in a pickle a few times where he couldn't get anyone to help. Tony said he could have just called him, but Peter didn't want to admit he was too scared to do that. So, instead of just admitting that, he sat through a lecture of Tony explaining how he should call him if anything seemed out of the ordinary, too hard to handle, or just something that wasn't able to be taken care of by just the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Tony insisted on programming more than just his number into Peter's suit then. He had Rhodey's, Steve's, Bruce's, Natasha's, Clint's, Scott's, Sam's and Bucky's in there. He swore that he would never call Scott, Sam, or Bucky, but Tony insisted that he should still have them.
