The day after (Y/n)'s almost attack was completely normal, except for the fact that she had Gwen on her back almost the entire day, wondering if she was really okay. After (Y/n) had actually described what had happened that led up to Spider-Man saving her, Gwen was then angry for her not telling her the entire story. She went on about how she should have told her and that 'what if Spider-Man hadn't shown up'.

"Gwen, seriously. I'm completely fine." (Y/n) kept having to reassure her. "Now, you have to get to class before you're late. We're in school. Nothing is gonna happen."

"Yeah, that's what we thought right before a giant lizard destroyed this place." Gwen muttered before waving bye and heading to her first hour.

(Y/n) shook her head with a smile at her friend's antics before moving to her own first hour. Most of the kids were already in there, so she made her way to an open seat and got out all her materials. Her eyes went to where Peter was sitting, and her eyebrows furrowed at the state of him. His hood was up, trying to hide the obvious bruising on his jaw. She looked at his knuckles, and saw they were scratched up. He had obviously gotten into some kind of fight, which made her... not worried, but there was something there that made her wonder why he was doing this.

After math, they headed to their lockers to get their textbooks for their next class. When (Y/n) looked over to Peter, he noticed her eyes, and said, "You wanna make a snarky comment or something?"

"Yeah. You look like shit." she said, looking him up and down.

"This is usually what happened when you get into a fight." Peter gestured to his bruised eye, putting down his hood to look at her directly. Now that he was in the full light, she could see just how bad it was.

"Maybe don't do it again. You obviously can't hold your own." she said, humor in her voice for herself.

"I'm better than you think." he said before closing his locker. His eyes looked to her arm, where he saw the bruise. He remembered the day before and how she had winced away from him, well, Spider-Man, after the attack. He looked down to the ground as he said, "Gwen told me Spider-Man saved you."

"Yeah. And? What does it matter?" she asked, not wanting to get into a real conversation with him about this.

"What happened?"

"You know, I don't see how that is any of your business." (Y/n) snapped back before she actually had to answer. She didn't want to see the triumphant look in his eyes when he saw that she couldn't hold her own. Given, it was against two full grown men, but she still didn't want to give Peter the satisfaction. It was just something inside her that felt like he was going to say something against her.

"It's not, but neither is my out of school life. I'm just curious, as you were." Peter said, making her step back once. Yes, she did ask him about what happened to his face, but that was physical evidence to be brought up.

"I questioned because of your face. You questioned because you heard it from somebody." (Y/n) said, but Peter shook his head.

"And that bruise on your arm?" he pointed to her arm, where she forgot to cover it with her jacket in her arms. She quickly set her books aside before pulling on the jacket, her face scrunching up as she moved it too quickly. "Look, I know we don't get along, but jeez, that's not something to cover up. That looks like it hurts. Would it be so crazy to think I'm concerned?"

"Why the hell do you care so much, Parker? Why don't you get help for your own face?" (Y/n) hissed, turning to face him with confusion written in her eyes. "It's nothing you have to deal with, so leave me alone!" She knew she wasn't being fair with him, but she turned and walked away as fast as she could, not wanting to talk about it any longer with Peter.
