Unexpected Surprises

Moving Forward?

Cole pov:

Yesterday with that God awful woman made us stall on the plans we had with Zane to possibly comfort a certain red ninja. Ever since he brought the girls home, he's been a bit distant from everyone, even Nya, so hopefully this works.

Lloyd is getting Kai's favorite show set up, or at least the one he's been hyper fixated on, Yu-Gi-Oh Arc V, and made the blanket fort. Zane is making some of his favorite snacks, dark chocolate chip cookies and peach cobbler, and some hot cocoa. I'm getting popcorn, vanilla ice cream, and the spray whipped cream. Nya and Jay have already agreed to take care of the twins, and Wu also offered, since they are his great nieces.

We are mainly doing this to help him trust us again, but seeing him relax for the first time since the twins came here would be amazing. Me, Lloyd, and Zane are setting up a perfect day for him basically, the only catch for him is he needs to relax.

"Oh, hi Cole!"

"Skylor?"

"In the flesh. How are you and Lloyd doing with Kai?"

"Um.."

"... What does that mean? Cole?"

Skylor got close with Lloyd after the whole 'my father wanted to destroy the world and rule what's left of it' thing.

"Well, uh, things got complicated, and we, me and Lloyd, found out that we have 2 biological daughters with Kai, and a lot about his past..."

Sky froze.

"And he knew about them the entire time..."

I finished hoping she would speak.

She didn't, so I just walked around her and checked out before the ice cream melted. I took my motorcycle back up the mountain and put everything where it belonged. Zane still being in the kitchen baking, I decided to ask him a question.

"Zane, do you think Kai will enjoy this?"

"Yes."

"No long and sciency answers?"

I joked.

"Do you want one?"

"No, it was a rhetorical question. Thank you though Zane."

"For what?"

"Helping me and Lloyd-"

"Lloyd and I."

"Whatever, thank you for helping us set this up for Kai."

"You're welcome, though the thanks was not needed, but it is appreciated."

Three hours later(Cole pov):

We are finally done setting up, that took a lot longer than expected. Kai was training all day today, even though we had the day off, so we were able to set up everything in his room, and he had already given the girls to Jay and Nya. Now to get him inside.

Lloyd and I walk outside and call Kai over, once he came over, I covered his eyes and Lloyd lead us to his room, opening doors and stuff.

"And, we're here!"

I shouted as I took my hands away from his eyes. He was shocked.

"Did you.. do all of this.. for me?"

"You've been acting a bit off, so we got Zane's help and made this all just for you, so wanna have a Yu-Gi-Oh Arc V marathon?"

Lloyd told/asked him.

"Of course, but the girls-"

"Are staying with Jay and Nya and Wu and are safe and sound."

"You two really thought this through, didn't you."

"Maybe, but now let's enjoy some snacks, hot cocoa, and Yu-Gi-Oh together!"

No pov:

After they got settled in the blanket fort, Kai was in between his crushes while Cole was on his right, and Lloyd was on his left. They enjoyed 6 episodes before Kai got sleepy and rested his head on Lloyd's shoulder while leaning into Cole. By the eighth episode, Kai was relaxed and asleep, enjoying the warmth of both the blankets and his crushes being next to him.
