Unexpected Surprises

Christmas Party

This is an important part of this story, but if mentions of alcohol or underaged drinking makes uncomfortable, this is your warning now.

Before we get onto the chapter, I synced up the time to ours so it's 4 days to Christmas.

Kai pov:

Everyone helped set up the Christmas party, and we're glad we're coming it 4 days ahead cause I heard that someone brought egg nog, the alcoholic type.

We're not bringing it out until the girls are asleep.

After the egg nog is gone, someone will probably try to find more alcohol, *cough* Lloyd *cough*.

But that's just a guess. While the girls are awake we're gonna play games and eat the food, also do the gift exchange.

I got a nice notebook with some gel pens for Jay, we drew yesterday and I got to shop for Jay, Kaitlyn got Cole, so we bought him a cake and wrapped it, Kailey got Wu, he was a bit harder to shop for, but eventually decided tea was the best way to go.

We headed to the area where we were going to put the gifts at, set the three gifts down, and then sat in the living room, just waiting for the others to show up.

Cole came in next and sat down with us. Then Lloyd. After a few minutes of no one coming, leaned on Cole a bit.

"You're such a snuggle bug, Kai."

Cole stated.

"No I'm not."

"Then why are you almost always cuddling something or someone?"

"I'm not always cuddling something!"

"Oh yeah? Name one time you weren't cuddling something."

Nya butt in. My first thought was when I was younger then ten, I guess, so I told them.

"I wasn't very fond of any sort of touch until I was probably about eleven or twelve, so cuddling was not an option. Mom and Dad had adopted me by that point and helped me take care of the twins."

"Ok, last minute game, and I just came up with it. Everyone, excluding the girls and Wu, draws a number, one through six, the person who draws one gets asked a question from everyone else, including Wu and the girls."

Jay said.

"Why are we excluding Wu and the girls in the drawing?"

Nya asked.

"Wu speaks in riddles and the girls might get stressed out and I do not want to be in a room with a stressed five year old."

Everyone agreed and added one rule to the game, letting the person being asked the question skip one per turn they drew one.

We all wanted to do this game first, so we cut out the numbers and started immediately.

Idea man(Jay) drew 1 first. Everyone gave him easy to answer questions like 'Was Nya your first love'.

Second round, Cole drew one and they gave him tougher questions like 'how did you find out you were bi'.

Everyone drawing had gone, except me. But I drew the one on the sixth round.

"Kai, how old were you when you escaped Alex?"

Cole's question.

"Umm, the first time 7, the second, 10? I don't honestly know, time worked different there."

"I do not mind that this is my question, but do you care to tell us about the lab?"

Zane asked. I took a deep breath.
