Theo's P.O.V

Present

Time was running out.

"Stay back here." I told Shawn before I knocked the door down. Shawn nodded guarded around the outside. This was something I had to do on my own to deal with Zachary.

"Ah, Theodore" Zachary said looking down at his phone. He sitting on the couch and smoking what smelt like a cigarette. I observed the room realizing he had two guys sitting at the poker table beside him. "Leave us." He said looking at his gang members.

Once they left and the door was shut, I walked towards his direction. I see the gun tucked into the couch sticking out and the knife on the table next to him where his coffee mug sits in front of. I have to play it safe because Amelia's life is at stake.

"What does she have like 30 minutes or less?" He asked making my hand gripped the edges of the couch.

I hate to beg but I was desperate.

"What do you want from me?" I said breathing every word out as calm as I could.

"Well I want you to pay for killing my best friend by giving me yours." He said with a smile that gave me unsettled feeling in my stomach. A feel a vein ready to pop out of my forehead.

Visions of blood leaking from the car when I decided to kill Ethan right before entering the warehouse. I had to go straight to a hideout in order to protect myself. Ethan was sabotaging the whole plan on purpose. Of course, Zack doesn't believe me because they were best friends.

"Fuck no. I would rather give up my life." I said without thinking and I stood up. "Give me the antidote right now. I don't want to loose her." I took out my gun from my side and had it pressed to his head.

"You really want to fight for her." He said and he raised slowly off of the sofa.

"I will work out whatever it is that you want but not her." I said and he was happy to hear those words.

"Even coming back to work for me?" He questioned. " You made pretty good sales and empty threats" He stated and took out a syringe and a liquid bottle.

"Why would I do that? I have am no need in your service." I stated and he turned the computer screen to face me.

Pressing play of the video, the footage of me killing Ethan. I felt the scream that terrorized me some nights. The blood gushing everywhere not knowing if it was mine or his. My skin grew cold and I felt a shiver in my spine.

This was fucking blackmail. He got me right where he wanted me.

"Consider it done." I said with my teeth gritted. I stood up ready to take the syringe out of his hands.

"And?" He asked raising an eyebrow and I took a step back. Time was ticking and he really wanted to play games.

"And"- I took a swing feeling my knuckles meet the side of his jaw making him wince from pain. A smile still on his face as I wanted to beat the shit out of him.

"Consider that my acceptance." I said and I know I was going to regret working for him, again. However, this was for Amelia.

He placed the stuff in my palm with a satisfied grin on his face.

"Glad to have you back, mate." He said.

I took the stuff that I needed and stormed out of his place. Shawn following me once he noticed my exit.

"I got it." I said and we walked back to the car. Miles was waiting in the car with Amelia in the back seat. I got in the back seat putting my arm around Amelia as comfort.

"Where are we going?" Miles asked.

"My place." I said.

I grabbed a piece of flesh and inserted it into the side of her neck feeling her flinch from the pain. I pushed the strand of her hair away from her face and watched her breathing go back to normal.

"I heard." Shawn said after a while, and in the corner of my eye I can tell he was disappointed.

"You would've done the same for Aria in a heartbeat. Please don't give me crap for this. I will have my arrangements in order and I find a way out." I said and didn't mention the video Zachary was using to blackmail me.

We got to the apartment. I gave Amelia another antidote and waited until she fell asleep. It made her drowsy and tired.

"Theo" She groaned placing her hand out and I got up from the chair to sit beside her on the bed. I grabbed her hand and she gave it a weak squeeze.

"I am sorry for the trouble." She said and I heard a soft snore come one.

I felt the solid stone in my chest start to break apart. She felt like a burden and I hated that. I hate that she feels that way when I would do anything for her.

"Goodnight, Lia." I whispered laying down beside her.
