Theo's P.O.V
"How could you steal money from my company and use it for your own selfish reasons?' My father spoke with anger in his voice echoing in the room. My mother places a hand on his shoulder to warn him of the tone he is using. "Did you think I wouldn't find out about the missing funds?" He asked in disbelief.
All I could think about was my favorite person in this world was betraying me. She haven't been answering any of my phone calls.
"You know the scandal linking to my business will cost me thousands of dollars. To kill a story like this in the news" My dad said pacing around the room. My mom stares at me for a second and then at my father.
"Daniel, at least he told us the truth." My mom said with her lips thinned. She was disappointed at me.
"You are the oldest. You should be better than this. Set an example for your sisters and brother." My dad said and sat in his chair. He leaned over to grab his financial binder to review. I sat their quietly.
My mom's phone started to ring and she looked at it stepping out of the room.
"Theodore, you need to tell me if you are in trouble." My dad said with hope in his eyes but I could tell he was so disappointed.
I swallowed a big lump in my throat turning my head to the side. Staring at our family portrait that was perfect. Before I can respond to my dad's comment my mom rushed inside.
"I got a call from the hospital." My mom said and looked at me. "Amelia." She said with her voice cracking. I stood up looking at my mom and started to look for my car keys.
"I will drive." My dad said softly as we all rushed out of the house.

Amelia's dad was only there talking to the doctors. My parents waited outside with him and helped him calm down. I searched the room for anyone that was suspicious. I knew this had the Thornes written all over it. They were out for revenge on me and they knew Amelia was my weakness.I entered the room quietly and she was looking straight at me. Her eyes full of pain and I cursed myself for caring, again.
Water filled the rims of her eyes and I grabbed her hand. She gasped for air trying to speak making the feeling in my chest start to hurt. Fuck, I hate this.
"Save your strength." I whispered feeling a burning sensation in my eyes. I don't want to cry for her.
Fuck you
Fuck you
Fuck you
I wanted to say
Why did she make me feel this way? Why did she betray me?
I let go of the her hand bringing my arms to snake around her waist and pulled her on top of my lap. She wrapped her arms around me and snuggled into my chest. Her hair brushed across my skin giving me goosebumps. I breathe her in and then out. This was probably going be the last time we held each other like this.
"I can't find myself to let you go." I whispered holding in the pain in the middle of my chest. Breathing out frustration as a tear slid down my cheek. Her eyes scanned mine with confusion.
"I am here, Theodore" She said leaning to kiss me and I pulled away. Realization hits her eyes. "No." She said with panic. The room was starting to feel cold. "I-I was going to tell you everything." She said with her voice shaking.
"Amelia, I didn't know our friendship came with a price tag." I said laugh full of pity. "I was happy again to have you in my life. I risked everything for you and you stabbed me right here." I said pointing to my heart and tears started to run trail down my face.
"Theo, I can explain. I fixed everything" She cried. I knew I looked like an asshole arguing with her at the wrong time. "Please, I fixed everything." She pleaded and I shook my head.
"I hope you get better, Amelia" I said sincerely. "And we become strangers, again." I said choking on my words.
I quietly exited the room feeling shards of glass being broken in my chest. I failed everyone in my life. My parents. Protecting Amelia from the dark and twisted past that came back to haunt me. I failed myself for believing I could love someone like her. I failed thinking everything was a fucking movie. That I was the perfect guy.
I stayed in the hospital the whole day watching everyone visit. My excuse was that I already visited her so I didn't need to go, again. Her mother didn't make it yet and I hope she did for the sake of Amelia.
Miles bought dinner for us and we quietly chewed on the sandwiches. Aria and Kayla were in Amelia's hospital room.
"I know this is a bad time to bring it up but Zachary was the one who called me." Shawn spoke with caution. I raised an eyebrow at him and put down the sandwich.
"Explain." I said with eyes growing annoyed to the mention of his name.
"He was tracking down the Thornes' activities and he was following one of them. He killed the person who attacked Amelia and drove her straight to the hospital." He continued. I cursed under my breath and sat back in my chair. I drink my cup of coffee pondering on the information.
"Don't kill me, Theo. But I think we need to work with Zachary and his gang to get out of this mess." Miles said and I sighed deeply picking up back my sandwich.
"I need fresh air." I said standing up to leave. I walked towards the elevators and pushed the button waiting for the doors to open. I looked down the hallway leading towards Amelia's room. I cursed myself turning to walk there and opened her room door.
She was asleep and the room was dark. I watched her peacefully sleeping and kissed her forehead. Brushing away a few stands of hair from her face.
"I am so sorry, Lia." I whispered not understanding why I was apologizing when she hurt me. I left the room and returned back to my sandwich.
