Turning the key to the front door, I'm instantly greeted with shouts. Nothing new to hear your parents arguing every chance they get. Feeding into each other's shit. Accusations and the lies. The infidelity, late-night calls, and affairs. Well, that's my father's side of things.

And my mother takes the shit with the refreshing taste of alcohol.

Do I feel bad for her? No.

Choosing to stay is on her and my father isn't anything but a teenager going off the rails. Fucking anything with a nice pair of legs and heels. My parent's relationship was toxic and has been this way for years now. I just hate that it happens around my siblings. Adrian, my little brother who's only a year younger, doesn't pay any mind to it. He's too busy messing with girls and being the class clown. Jules, my little sister, our angel. She's precious to the family and though she has her curious moments as to what it means to be an adult, we keep her shielded as possible.

She was just beginning her freshman year and I knew how it was when I was one at the time. That's the thing when you have an older sibling, the role I play myself. You go through everything first.

"I told you nothing happened!" My father shouts, his frustration evident in his tone.

"Liar! I'm sick of your shit, Ivan." My mother cries out, her voice cracking and a bit slurred.

Blowing out a long breath, not caring to hear the rest of their depressing story, I headed up the stairs. Careful not to let them know I just arrived. Once in my room, I tossed my book bag down by the side of the bed and slipped off my shoes. The moment I sat down, my phone buzzed and it was a text message from my best mate, Blaze.

      Blaze: Game?

      Me: Not in the mood.

      Blaze: Smoke?

      Me: Same place.

With that, I shut my phone off and changed into something more comfortable like a simple tee shirt and joggers. I slipped my phone into one of the pockets before walking out only to run into a petite brunette woman.

A gasp leaves her lips before instantly apologizing. Ignoring her, I took in her appearance and it was safe to say that my brother had a good time. The girl looked a mess even when she tried to look like she wasn't just fucked.

To avoid any more awkwardness, she slipped past me and hurried down the main stairs. Just then, Adrian walked out of his room, which was down the hall from mine with a duffle bag in his hand.

"Feeling sated?" I teased.

He smirked. "Yes, I do if you must know. You leaving?"

"Meeting up with Blaze."

"Didn't you have a study session today?"

I huffed, annoyed. The remainder of the brat who didn't do as she was told awakened another wave of anger.
