"Adrian will drive you home," I told Jules the moment we both got out of the car. "I have to stay after school for practice."

"And what about dinner?"

I sighed, beyond frustrated with our fucked up situation. Mom once again got drunk on her ass and Dad doesn't return until the day after tomorrow. And Venise, our housekeeper was on vacation so it was just us three to fend for ourselves.

"I can make something." I suggested and she makes a face.

"Not to be picky, Mercer, but you're cooking isn't exactly editable."

I rolled my eyes at her. "I guess I could stop somewhere. Just text me what you want as soon as you get home."

She smiles, nodding her head happily while we walked inside the building. The hall, packed with other students, was a normal sight as we walked inside. My eyes instantly landed on Blaze and the rest of the team. Noticing us, he makes his way over with that silly fucking grin on his face.

"Sunshine." He winks. "It's always lovely to see you."

I frowned at his words, restraining myself to punch him. Jules' cheeks tint red and it only fuels. Clearing her throat, she nods, acknowledging Blaze before walking off with a 'see you later'.

"Mercer." Blaze greets, raising his hand.

"What I tell you about fucking with my sister?" I slapped his hand, falling into the handshake we came up with as kids.

"Relax, man. She looked...sad. I just wanted to make her smile."

I rolled my eyes in incredulity. "Of course you do."

Ignoring the sarcasm, he talks about practice and brings up Ronan having commitment issues with some chick.

"He still fucking with that girl?" I questioned, stopping at my locker.

"That's what I heard." He leans against the lockers beside mine. "I heard she got into it too with the girl you always have tutoring you. Red was her name, right?"
