The whole school was in talk and I found myself getting annoyed. Why couldn't people just mind their business?

Everyone has issues and sometimes those issues slip and it becomes a much bigger problem.

Everyone was so into N'sGosRoom and the chatter continued to spread. These past few days have been chaotic. Mr. Finsley is currently being held at Durant Police Department for possible statutory rape. Sophia hasn't been showing her face at school and will most likely be benched in the next game.

And more talk about the upcoming pep rally. It was just a lot.

Entering the cafeteria, I noticed how more students were spread out amongst each other, talking to one another. Not really hungry, I decided to sit at my normal table and pull out my book. Taking some time to read while I conjure up an idea for a college essay.

I was a good girl at the top of her class and I had no idea what college I wanted to go to. Hell, I didn't even know what I wanted to be.

What would I even write in my essay?

Sighing, I shook my head.

"Gen?"

I looked up from my book to see Jules holding a folder in her hand.

"Jules," I smile and she mirrors mine. "What are you doing in this lunch period?"

"I had to go to the office to pick up a parent's form for an upcoming college trip to Stillwater." She waves her folder in her hand. "I need help with a few math problems and I know you have the same lunch period as Mercer because he mentioned it the other day. Plus, the teacher thinks I'm still in the office but I swung by quickly."

I chuckled softly. "Okay." I grabbed the folder and she sits down.

"So, thinking about Oklahoma State?" I asked her while looking over the problems.

"It's a possibility. I just..." She sighs. "I just don't want to be too far from home."

I look up at her and saw the sadness yet hope. My heart broke for her and it aches that much more knowing she was struggling.
