"I wish you didn't have to go right now." I murmured against his lips.

God, I never realized how much I missed kissing him until now.

Currently standing in the middle of my room, trying to prepare myself for his leave. Mercer had to go home.

Smiling, he pulls me closer to him by my neck, his thumb caressing the skin just below my ear. Gently, he pulls my face to his, kissing me once again before pulling my head down to kiss my forehead.

"Me too, Red." He breathes, squeezing my hip with his other hand before brushing his fingers at the loops of my pants.

Leaning against him, my hands fist in the sweater he changed into hours ago. After we ate, he paid for himself and I, despite my protests about using my money, we drove around talking more about the things we liked to do.

He knew I was a nerd and the deeper our conversation went on the subject of me. Playing a game that was similar to twenty-one questions. I opened up to him a little more. Telling him the basics and he didn't seem to mind at all. My birthday was in January and my favorite color was obvious.

Red.

A nickname that Mercer calls me. A name I like so much that I try so hard to contain my cheesy smiles every time he calls me that and it makes me think about something.

What nickname could I possibly call him?

Mercer was a hard guy to figure out at times but I had patience for him. I meant what I said this morning. He waited for me and I was going to do the same thing. Mercer didn't talk much about his family or things that were too personal for him but he did tell me the little things and that was all that mattered. At least he was talking to me. Whenever he was ready to open up to me, I was going to be here for him.

Sighing in contentment, I press on my tiptoes and kiss him.

He was going home. He had to for a couple of reasons. Sadly, our time together was short but beautiful and I loved every second of it.

But his parents were on their way back and my dad called me this morning telling me he will return late this evening because Shanice, the woman he was with, had some kind of family emergency.
