Think, Gen. Think.

It was Thursday and it was the end of the last period before everyone goes home.

My mind has been thinking hard for the past week and now today was the day the four to five day vacation started.

I have yet to come up with an excuse for my parents but I didn't let it deter me. I was going to go on this trip one way or another.

Besides, as a senior, I'm just about done with everything for the rest of the school year. A few more final papers and I would be finished. Well, except for the days I would have to show up just for attendance.

The final bell went off, dismissing everyone in the last period. Following the other students out of mathematics, I head straight for my locker. Placing all my books inside my locker, I pulled out the signed paper with my father's forged initials.

I had to drop this off to my counselor's office before I left. It was still unbelievable that I was doing something like this because this was not me. Forging my father's signature to excuse me for tomorrow was not something I would do.

But, it's not like he'd allow me to take one day off from school and just sign the paper without a valid excuse which is why I've decided to do things this way. Forge his signature, turn in the paper that I am being excused due to family emergencies at home then come up with another believable excuse for my parents. More so my father since my mother will be too busy with her boyfriend but just in case.

I closed my locker, turning my body only to nearly jump out of my skin. "Carson!" I gasped in surprise, dropping all of my papers to the ground.

My heart thumps wildly as my breathing shakes. I stare at him and he looked...exhausted. Like something was bothering him.

"You nearly made me have a heart attack." My breathing comes out shaky as I bend down and grabbed my belongings I dropped to the floor.

He bends down and helps me gather my belongings. "I didn't mean to scare you."

I didn't respond immediately as I stood to my feet with most of my belongings. Carson stands, looking over a piece of paper that seemed to have slipped out one of my folders.
