XXXIV: A Message from

Chapter Thirty-Four

XAVIER is looking at the clear night sky. The wind blew coldly together his grief when he was done putting his uncle-- Giordon, on his final resting place. Unfortunately, he needs to bury his relative in the loneliest road of America.

He lost his biological mother, her sister, his wife, and now his uncle. Ilan pa ang dapat mawala sa kanya? Ganito ba kahirap magkaroon ng isang pamilya at maging parte ng Privus? Sometimes, Xavier thought that Evo felt the same because he also lost too much. When Evo lost Vera, he knew that the man needed his presence because the pain of losing someone is beyond incomparable, something that you can fix on your own.

Ilang beses pa ba niya dapat maranasan 'to? Pakiramdam niya, dinaig pa ng lahat ng bugbog, sugat, daplis at tama ng bala ang emotional baggage ng pagkawala ng mga taong iniingatan mo. Bakit ba kasi ang buhay niya pa ang napili ng tadhana na mapunta sa ganitong sitwasyon? Hindi niya tuloy lubusang mainggit kapag nakakakita siya ng pamilyang namumuhay lang ng normal at simple, iyong tipong sapat na ang nakakakain sila ng sapat sa isang araw. Mahirap man ang buhay para sa kanila but they have their family at their back to give them strength.

Paano naman siya? Who will support him whenever the universe wants to take away one of the people he cares about?

Xavier sighed when he felt 47's presence beside him. He bet the clone is done doing the clean-up.

"In your wife's memories," natuon ang atensyon niya rito pero 'di niya ito nilingon at nanatiling nakatingin sa kawalan. "She's expecting this to happen."

He scoffed with pure sarcasm, "What? Ang mawalan na naman ako ng kamag-anak? Iyon ang inasahan na niya?" hindi niya naiwasan malagyan iyon ng galit.

"That you'll both... eventually be separated. Ang maghiwalay."

'Di na napigilan ng binata ang tumingin sa clone na nasa wangis ng kanyang asawa. He couldn't understand why he heard her tone as if she's hurt. As if she can cry in front of him.

"She has a selfish reason why she did what she needs to do when she left. I can't disclose it to you because I don't have the access to it but this selfish reason of hers... she knew that this will cause you to loath her." 47 added.

Hindi na napigilan ni Xavier na hawakan sa magkabilang braso nito si 47 at galit itong nagwika sa mukha nito. "Are you trying to emotionally manipulate me? I may be vulnerable right now because I'm grieving but I won't hesitate to destroy you and leave you here piece by piece."

47 closed her eyes as if she got affected by his sudden outburst."I-I'm not,"

"Yeah? Then, don't make it sound that she did something heroic!"

"Because she wasn't!" 47 unexpectedly burst anger. "She was destined to do what she needed to do with the Apollo when she destroyed it in GVA island! Only she can destroy it because after that, once the Apollo has been created by Vera... their life will be the expense and payment for it! That's why she chose to live and enjoy every moment she had with you because she will leave you eventually! And these decisions she made... she needed to break her promise with you that you'll end this side by side because she only has a short time."

Nanghihinang binitawan ni Xavier ang braso ni 47 matapos malaman iyon. Now, the pain doubled. The feeling of hating his wife has come back because he felt he was not respected, as if he couldn't do anything to help her! She didn't give him a chance to help her! She chose this path... the path where he'll loath and hate her existence dahil sa lahat ng sakit na binigay nito sa binata.

Only if she gave him a chance. Only if they both had more time. Maybe that's why Xyrene was always forgiving him, letting him do what he wants. She's treasuring their last moments while he doesn't have a chance that he will be left alone anytime.
