"SUPREMO said that he would spare our lives kung ibibigay natin sa kanya ang nasa kamay ni Athena." tugon ng isang ginoo nang ito'y dumating sa kanilang mansyon. "Nalaman na nila ang katrayduran na ginawa natin sa kanila."
Napayakap ang kausap nitong ginang sa anak na lalaki na ngayo'y tulog sa kandungan nito. "But that would save our Evo against the Apollo's effects."
"Willing siyang bigyan tayo ng clemency." Dugtong pa ng ginoo.
"And do you think that he would keep his words?"
"I know that, but he swore on their oath."
"But that doesn't mean that he would really spare us."
"Running away is not a choice and you know that Hon. The Aldeguer's influence across the globe is to the roof."
"So, being a coward is your only choice?"
The man didn't like the word that her wife used. "I am trying my best to save us all."
The wife looked away with tears flowing on her cheeks. "We really didn't get away with them you know. Even after the Royalties granted your freedom, the organization itself didn't give us the freedom that we wanted."
"I didn't regret any inch of it, Hon. Being the Crusader itself is already a bad omen for our family. If I didn't do it, our lives won't be spared either. Kaya kailangan natin gawin ang kahit na anong paraan para maging ligtas sina Evo at Emerald. Even if it will take my life or betray our friends then so be it."
HINABOL ko ang aking hininga nang pakiramdam ko'y nasakal ako ng panaginip na 'yon. I'm chasing my breath only to feel something that pressure is pressing on my head. Only to realize that my vision was upside down— that means nakabitin ako patiwarik.
"Oh good, you're awake. Just in time."
I grunted in pain when they slashed the rope that connects me to the ceiling that made me fall. I tried to stand up using my hands pero maging iyon pala ay nakagapos sa aking likuran. Pinilit kong silipin ko sino ang may pakana nito but the sunlight behind that person's back cringes me at some point.
"Who are you?" nanghihina kong tanong rito. Hindi siya matanaw ng mata ko na may Lenses. Kainis!
"Grabe english, pwede kang magtagalog kabayan! Ako lang 'to. Pinoy rin ako." Rinig kong utas nito na siyang kinagulat ko.
"Bakit ako nakatali ng ganito?" tanong ko habang hinahabol ang pahinga na kailangan ng katawan ko.
"Ay oo nga," he reacted tapos ay inutusan nito ang mga tauhan sa paligid. "Kalagan niyo na siya."
They pulled me towards a couch after they removed the rope.
"Nice, you're awake now." Napatingin ako sa bagong pasok na babae at doon ako napakunot ng noo when I saw that it's Vera-- the clone. She's holding a bag in her hand and went straight sa couch na katapat ko. "Did he go berserk?"
"Nope, I followed your advice." Anang ng lalaking ngayon na nakita ko na rin ang mukha.
He's a young dude. How old is he? Twenty? Or lower? He's not that physically active and his moreno skin and innocent look while watching Vera opening the attached case screams like siya ang bumitin sa'kin patiwarik.
"What advice?" I shrugged the confusion kung sino ang batang 'to at tiningnan pabalik si Vera na ngayo'y may nilalabas sa dala nitong bag.
"Well, I told him that you still have an anger management issue so if ever you'll wake up with being restrained for sure lahat ng tauhan na narito ay wala nang malay or worst... dead na."
