A month passed and everyone was settling to the idea of an ice witch at the school. Many were still nervous around the girl and called her names but Venus could care less. She had friends now after all. It was now October and pumpkins were being brought in for decoration and little monsters were being hung on the walls. Ethan, Willow and Venus had become quite the trio as they would meet at the library, for meals and even on days off for fun. Venus had never had so much interaction with two people before so she was happy to have made some friends. It was Halloween and the school was throwing a banquet that Friday night to celebrate before the weekend.

"Acusignis." Venus said, flicking her wand at the match as it changed into a needle that gleamed under the lights of her Transfiguration class.

"Well done Ms. Snow. 5 points to Ravenclaw." Professor McGonagall commended as she helped one of her struggling classmates.

Venus hummed creepily in the Halloween spirit as she packed up her bag and McGonagall pulled her aside before she left.

"Ms. Snow, I couldn't help but notice you have a lovely singing voice as I patrolled the Ravenclaw tower yesterday. Now, the headmaster asked me to find someone to sing a Halloween song for the banquet tonight. Do you think you'd be up for it?"

The girl's eyes widened and she blankly nodded. "Please tell the headmaster I'd be honored. Is there any song in particular he'd like?"

"Not at all, but if I do recall, his favorite muggle monster is a zombie. But whatever you see fit." The woman replied. She thanked her and waved her along to Charms. Venus sighed and reached the classroom , head full of thoughts. Once class was over, instead of heading towards the Great Hall, she headed towards the forest. While the students were not allowed inside the forest, there was one bench on the outskirts of it that Venus liked to sit at to be alone.

She shook her wrist, making her bell bracelet ring throughout the air. A signature blue owl flew to her in the air and landed beside her on the bench.

"Hi Crystal. Sorry, I just needed someone to talk to." Venus said, looking up at the sky. "They asked me to sing at the banquet tonight. What if I mess up? Or sound horrible?" The owl hooed and cocked it's head at the girl, nudging her leg.

"Thanks Girl. But I don't know what to do." She panicked, putting her head in her hands.

Venus trudged back to the school and stared at her feet as she walked. By doing this she ran into a very bad situation named Pansy.

"Ugh, you again. Listen whore, stay away from Draco Malfoy and while you're at it, try not to embarrass the whole school with that belting you call singing on stage."

Venus looked at the girl with wide eyes and clutched her bag tighter.

"Hey! Answer me you bitch!" Pansy yelled at her, slapping her across the face.

Venus felt her hands go stone cold. She closed them tightly and kept her gaze on the floor.

"Hey! Leave her alone!" A loud voice called from the hall. Willow ran up to her friend with Ethan trailing behind. Crystal was not far off, flying behind the boy. Willow pushed Pansy away and put an arm on her friend who was still stuck in place.

The Slytherin girl turned around and ran away before she got caught by a teacher.

"Are you ok?" Willow asked her, patting her back and trying to grab her hand.

"No! Move!" Venus cried pushing her friend away and grabbing onto the stone wall, a thin layer of frost covering it.

Her eyes looked like they glitched, between white and brown pupils, some white strand appearing in her hair and the girl fell to her knees.

"Venus!" Her two friends cried.

After they all calmed down, the white streaks disappeared and Venus returned to normal.

"I'm sorry, I didn't want to hurt anyone." She cried.

"Don't apologize." Willow consoled. "How did that happen though?"

"My Ice magic is linked to my emotions. To put it simply, if I'm unstable, my magic is too. That's why I try not to use it unless I'm practicing with one of the teachers. Oh also, McGonagall volunteered me to sing tonight and I have no idea what to do." She added quickly. "Just to get that all out there."

"Oh damn." Ethan said. "Well that's something a hug won't fix."

The three laughed and talked out how to fix their current predicament. They settled on practicing and reading up on zombies. Some time later...

"And now, one of our lovely first year students is going to play a song for us. Please welcome, Ms. Venus Snow." The headmaster announced as she stepped onto the platform, ukulele in hand. Whispers filled the Hall in fear, hate, and skepticism. Venus shook it off and looked towards her friends that were waving at her in the crowd. She cleared her throat and said "Sonorus." for her voice to be projected across the Great Hall.

"Hello. I was told that our headmaster's favorite Muggle monster is a zombie, so this is a tribute to that. Please enjoy."

Venus tapped the wooden frame of her instrument and started to strum with the beat.

"Our love story could be kind of gory, far from boring; We'd meet at a post-apocalypse." She tapped her foot along making more of a beat to the song.

"Yeah, I'd be slowly walking in a group stalking you; You'd be the only man alive that I could not resist." She strummed slowly, creating a dramatic rising tune.

"Then all of your friends, they'd try to kill us

But only because they'd be jealous; That our love is deeper than Edward and Bella's." She resumed her tapping and strummed faster as she hit the chorus. "Oh, if I were a zombie, I'd never eat your brain

I'd just want your heart, I'd want your heart I'd just want your heart. Oh, if I were a zombie, I'd never eat your brain

I'd just want your heart, yeah, I'd want your heart. I'd just want your heart, 'cause I want you."

The hall cheered and the headmaster clapped along with her beat, making everyone else join in as well.

"Double barrel shotgun taking out the slow ones, then you'd see the passion burning in my eyes...and I'd keep my head. And all of your friends...they'd try to kill us but only because... they'd be jealous that our love is deeper than Edward and BelIa's. . . Oh."

Venus continued singing until she hit the final verse and ended the song.

"I'd just want your heart, 'cause I want. . . yooouuu." she drew out the last note as she strummed her last chord and tapped to end the beat. "Thank you."

Venus bowed as her spell broke and the hall erupted in cheers. She smiled and looked up to her friends who were screaming the loudest in glee.

She scurried off the platform and headed towards her seat, getting many smiles, high fives and compliments. As the headmaster was about to start talking. When Professor Quirrell burst through the large doors and screamed

"There's a Troll loose in the dungeons!" The words spewed from his mouth as he collapsed on the floor.
