The time to begin her fourth year at Hogwarts quickly approached as Venus Snow packed away her things from the Frost Mansion to return to her dorm. She still had her own room due to parental fears, but she was never isolated now as her fellow Ravenclaws began to embrace her more. It helped that she was close friends with the other top witch in her year, Hermione Granger. Both together attracted much new attention It wouldn't help that both girls were becoming more beautiful with maturity. Venus had begun to develop more over that summer, curves beginning to show through and the roundness in her face slimming down to accentuate her cheekbones and jawline. When she had gone shopping, she had to adjust to having assets to cover up and having curves to flaunt.
Hermione was learning to tame her frizzy curls she had so been teased about years prior and her wardrobe had also adapted to becoming more flattering and feminine. Competing for top of their class was the last thing on their minds, rather fostering cooperation to succeed in their classes. Where one struggled in a subject, the other would excel, so they helped each other.
Willow Ciel, her best friend was an aspiring magical designer, enchanting fabrics and pursuing new designs for the magic and muggle community. Ethan Clover, one of her closest Gryffindor friends that stole her best friends heart, but was so oblivious to it it hurt. He was looking to learn more about wizarding and muggle relations as a fosterer of peace and communication. Ethan was also known for his charms and their uses in psychological applications. They had all grown up in a sense, thinking of their futures and plans after schooling but Venus dreaded that change. She knew that eventually that would mean taking her father's place as the Ministry's ice wizard weapon and doing as they pleased. If she was being honest, her mother's medical career at St.Mungos aligned more with what she wanted to do, helping wizards and witches through healing not violence.
She had a lot to think about this year.
The trip to the train station was the Snow family's normal turn about the floo stations. They ran through platform 9 ¾ for the Hogwarts express and peered onto the dark red and black train.
"Alright snowflake, we'll see you in a couple of months, remember to stay safe and write." Copernicus Snow iterated for her fourth year in a row.
"Of course father, always." Venus chirped back hugging him.
"And do remember to always have fun." Her mother added with her soft smile and rosy cheeks, giving her a hug as well.
"Venus! Over here!" A name with no face called. The ravenette turned around and saw Willow and her gorgeous styled box braids running towards her the Ciel family close behind.
Hazel and Raine where Willow's twin younger siblings, now both 7 years old. Venus thought of them like the Weasley twins' mini versions their knack for troublemaking and mischief was a tell tale sign of their future at Hogwarts. Rosemary Ciel, Willow's mother hugged her own warmly. "So good to see you again Layla. I hope everything is okay with you and the family?"
"Yes Rose, sad to see my daughter go but excited to see her accomplish more."
Copernicus shook the woman's hand and chuckled. "Yes our girls are quite the successful pair, you must be very proud of Willow and her artistic talents. I know my wife and daughter have gushed about them endlessly."
Willow blushed at the complement from her father but smiled brightly when Venus rubbed her shoulders in friendship pride.
"And Venus's magical abilities are astounding from what Willow tells me."
The train conductor yelled over the blowing whistle of the train signifying boarding time.
"Ah well that's our sign to leave you girls to it. We will see you soon." Ms. Ciel said hugging Willow and making room for her youngest to do so as well.
