Allison woke up next to a snoring Ashton, the next morning.
She studied his sleeping, peaceful form.
The way his brown/blonde curls fell around his face, the way his eyelashes softly touched his cheeks, the way his lips were slightly parted and quiet breaths left his mouth.
It was like she was in a trance.
She didn't even notice him waking up 'till his brown eyes were looking into hers.
"'Morning," he said in his raspy morning voice.
"'Morning," she whispered back as the blood rushed to her cheeks, turning it slightly pink.
She was just caught staring at him while he's asleep, but Ashton (being the gentleman he is) decided to ignore it.
"How are you feeling?" He asked.
"Slightly confused," she confessed.
"I can imagine, just must have a lot of questions," he said.
"Just a couple," she said to his surprise.
"Go ahead," Ashton encouraged her.
"I have two questions to be specific," she mumbled, "the first one is why did you keep me around?"
"Well, it was Luke's idea actually. He was the first one to notice actually," Ashton admitted.
"First one to notice what?" She asked.
"You're turning into a demon, Allison. Your real dad saved your life as Jake tried to take it," he explained.
"Jake vaguely said something about that. What do you mean my real parents? I mean they can't be demons their as human as they can be. Unless they're incredible good actors," the human/demon girl said.
"They're not your real parents Allison, they're death," Ashton said softly.
"What? No they're not they're just next door. They're my real parents. I've been with them since I was a baby. I even have baby pictures with them," She denied.
"Those are fake. The counsel changed your real mom into your adoptive mom and placed memories inside your parents, adoptive parents, that your their daughter," he explained.
"So what you're trying to say is that my whole life's been a lie?" She clarified.
"In some way, yes,"Ashton replied honestly.
"Okay," she said a bit unsure.
"Just okay?" He asked taken back.
"Yeah, I mean it's sad that they died but I never really knew them because I can't remember them. It's not like I can do something about it," the girl said.
"It's progressing quicker than I thought," Ashton mumbled.
"What's progressing quicker?" She asked.
"Your demon said. Your emotions aren't as strong as before. You'll feel less and less sadness, happiness, anger and the other emotions," he explained.
"That's actually my second question. You say that I'll have no emotions anymore when I'm fully a demon, but Calum has emotion. A lot of hate and anger yes but he has emotions," she said
"That's because Calum had found love a while back. A demon doesn't have feelings until he or she falls in love with someone. However when the loved one hurts the demon very badly, the emotions disappear again. Calum's girlfriend got murdered in front of his eyes. That's why he mostly feels anger and hate," Ashton explained.
"Lucy," Allison whispered.
"What?"
"Lucy, that was Calum's loved one. Wasn't she?" She asked.
"How'd you know? Did he tell you about her?" He asked curiously.
"No he didn't, I actually saw it in a dream. It were hunters that killed her, wasn't it?" She explained
"Yeah... does Calum know about this?" He asked.
"He does but he didn't want to believe me," Allison said
"Interesting," he mumbled.
Neither of them said a word for a couple minutes. Allison was trying to give everything a place while Ashton was processing the newfound information.
Ashton was dying to know what happened that night since Calum was still not over it.
He wouldn't say a thing about that night. He never even told Luke.
The blonde tried to get in his mind and see what had happened but Calum learned how to control it and prevent Luke from seeing some stuff.
Calum woke up of course and was furious at Luke. Not only that of course, he also felt betrayed. He trusted the youngest the most but after that stunt a lot had changed between them.
"I suggest we start with the training tomorrow. Luke will have to enter your mind and see what had happened in the past," Ashton said, hiding a bit of the truth.
He indeed wanted Luke to enter her memories and see what had happened the night she almost died. But he also wanted Luke to find out what had happened to Calum.
"Yeah of course, no problem," she said.
"I'll have to go now, I'll see you later," the demon said and kissed her temple.
She knew that he probably didn't care about her. He had shown his emotions from the moment she met him which must mean he already found his loved one.
She let out a heavy sigh and turned around. She got a mini heart attack when she saw Calum standing in the doorway.
"Is something bothering you?" He asked with a cocked eyebrow.
"No, I mean yes. It's complicated," she answered.
"I understand, there's much to process," he said.
"Yeah... I don't mean to be rude but, why are you here?" Allison asked.
"I overheard your conversation with Ashton... I didn't mean to actually but it's kinda hard not to hear everything that's going on in this house when you're bored. Anyway I want to learn you something," he explained.
"This is about the dream, right?" She clarified.
"Yes, I don't know how you were able to see this memory of mine but I kinda don't want the others to see this too. That's why I need you to learn something that can help me keep those memories safely locked up," he said.
"I don't know Calum..." she hesitated.
"Look, I know that I acted like a dick towards you but I'm trying to become friends with you. I know that it's a huge favor but you'll have my eternal gratitude," he almost pleaded.
"Okay fine, I'll do it," she gave in.
"Thank you, you don't know how much this means to me," he thanked her.
"It's okay, I can see how much this means to you. And I understand that everyone needs their time before they can open up about something. Especially about something traumatic as that," Allison said.
"I'm glad you do, we'll be leaving at half 3," Calum informed her.
"Half 3 in the afternoon?" She asked.
"Half 3 in the morning," he corrected her.
"Wait what?" She asked shocked.
"3 am is devils hour. Every creature from hell has their ultimate power around that hour. And since you're not a demon yet, we could use all the help we can get," Calum explained.
"I'll see you at half 3 then, I guess," she mumbled.
"Oh and Allison, you should talk with Ashton about how you feel," he said a little lower.
"Wh- what do you mean?" She stuttered.
"I think you know what I mean," he winked and left the room.
Allison watched Calum leave and wondered how he knew.
