I walked out of the shower and dove right into my room, trying to make sure my boyfriend Bryan wouldn't see me before I was ready. I searched through my closet for the matching, red, silk, sexy pyjama outfit he got me for valentines day. I hadn't worn it yet so I figured now would be a perfect time. I put the silk shorts on and then the silk tank top that goes with it. I brushed my hair and put good smelling lotion on my freshly shaved legs. I was ready to see the look on Bryan's face.
I quietly opened the bedroom door and peeked out into the living room to see where he was. I watched as he set the coffee table for our Greys anatomy binge night. I tipped toed behind him, reaching up and gently placing my hands over his eyes.
"Guess who.." I said with a giggle.
"Hmmmm" He pretended to think. "Is it Caleb?", of course my funny ass boyfriend would say his best friend's name while I'm trying to seduce him. I giggled then turned him around to look at me.
"Nooo" I said softly with a smile. I slid my hands up from his chest towards his shoulders, wrapping my arms around his neck.
"Oh it's my beautiful, sexy ass one and only girlfriend" He smiled and then kissed me. His soft lips pressing against mine was a feeling I never wanted to end. I giggled. Bryan placed his arms around my waist and picked me up to take me to sit next to him on the couch.
We started watching the show but could barely focus. My plan worked. We started making out on the couch before I pushed him to lay down and crawled on top of him. I made out with him while sitting on his lap. His phone started to ring and I could feel him searching his pockets with his hand.
"You're....Not.....Getting that.... Right now..." I said while still making out. He grabbed his phone and peeked to see who was calling.
"Baby", he stopped making out and gave me a sorry face. "I have to get it, It's work" He sat up so he could get up but I didn't get off his lap. I looked at him in the eyes and gave him a blank stare. "I'll be right back I promise" He kissed me one more time before sliding me off of him and jumping off the couch to answer his phone.
This always happens. It was the number one problem with dating a man so invested in his job. I picked at the food that was on the table while I waited for him. At this point I was a little annoyed that he answered. We haven't got any action in almost three weeks, this was the longest it's been.
Once he hung up the phone he slowly turned around and looked at me with sorry eyes and a very slight smile.
"Baby" He started. My face dropped and I was immediately annoyed. "I have to go into the shop, there's an emergency" He said.
"It's literally 8:30 at night. What's so important?" I asked in a tone.
"I promise, I'll be back tonight and we can continue right where we were" he walked up to me and smiled in my eyes. I leaned back on the couch and crossed my arms. I looked away avoiding eye contact. Work always came first to him. He's a mechanic at a shop that isn't even that busy, what could possibly be so urgent right now?
"Don't bother coming back. It's fine. I'm going to bed anyways",I lied. But I was not in the mood anymore.
"You sure?" He said.
"Go. I'll be ok." I said. I got up and started cleaning up the living room, not giving him the chance to kiss me goodbye. He's been giving me the slightest bit of attention lately. I need someone who is gonna treat me the way I deserve. I gave him anything and everything he's ever needed and this one time I want his affection he can't provide it.
After he left I started getting ready to go to bed. I live alone in an apartment that I bought using money that my parents left me before they died.
My parents died in a bad car accident about 3 years ago. I was 17 at the time, just about to turn 18. I lived in a group home for a couple months after their death until my 18th birthday. Then I was able to be an independent woman and start living on my own. Since I'm an only child I got all my parents' money. My dad had about a million saved up from his business he owned and my mom had around $480,000. So I had one million and four hundred eighty thousand dollars.
They left their huge house for me too but I wasn't comfortable living there all by myself.
After I finished cleaning up the apartment I heard an aggressive knock on the door. I flinched out of fear. It went quiet so I thought I'd just been hearing things. Until it happened again. The loud banging thud on my door. It sounded heavy, like it could've made my front door collapse off the hinges. I tiptoed over and peeked through the peephole to see Dean Jackson.
Dean is my best friend, Elaina's older brother. Dean and I may have some history-but we can get into that later.
I opened the door confused as to why the Dean was at my door. The second I opened the door he dove right into my apartment.
"Close the door, hurry" he said in a rushed tone that startled me. I quickly slammed the door shut, locked it and then put the chain lock up too.
"What the fuck is....?" I started to ask in a very worried tone. My voice faded as I looked at Dean's face, covered in blood, his eyes were all puffed up and he could barely open it. He had a large cut on his cheek that looked like it needed stitches. "Oh my god Dean are you ok?" I am more worried now.
"Yeah, just a little cut," he grunted in pain, he covered his eye with his hand. I walked over to him and gently moved his hand.
"That looks really bad" I said with a grossed out face. "Let me help you," I offered.
"No, it's fine" he tried to straighten his back but immediately hunched back over in pain.
"Get your ass to the bathroom right now", I demanded. I helped him walk to the bathroom, pulled out my first aid kit. "Sit there," I said, pointing to the toilet. He aggressively put the toilet lid down and weakly plopped on top of it. I took a damp towel and started gently wiping the blood off his face.
"You know you don't have to do this," he said weakly. I didn't respond. I didn't want him to end up sucking me back into his trap. "I could just walk home" he raised his eyebrows while suggesting, then regretted it because it hurt.
"Stop talking and sit still", I demanded and held his head straight. "What even happened?"
Dean looked into my eyes- or at least tried to. "I got in a little bit of trouble", he said. I looked back at him.
"Care to extend on that?" I said with a sarcastic attitude.
"I owed money to these guys, same old" he shrugged and smiled, he always thought doing bad things was cute - and sometimes it was. But when he gets hurt everyone just thinks he's stupid.
"You should stop getting yourself in these types of situations, you have responsibilities" I said as I continued to clean his face.
"You sound just like you did when we were dating" he said and looked right into my eyes. The side of his mouth curved into a smirk, something I couldn't handle. He knew it drove me crazy when he did that. I couldn't resist but let out a small smile.
"Well we aren't dating, I've moved on" I moved away a bit. Don't let yourself get sucked back into this man.
"Mariana" his voice was soft and kind of mysterious. I looked into his eyes only because I couldn't look away, and when I did he caught my attention again. "I came here because I trusted you. Not because I wanted you back" his eyes looked like puppy dog eyes.
"I sense a 'but' coming somewhere" I smirked a bit. And some may say I flirted there, but I was desperate for male attention.
"But" he smiled and stood up. He walked towards me very slowly and kept eye contact. "If you were down to get back together, I'd be down too" he gently placed his hand on my waist and leaned me against the wall, leaving the smallest little gap between our bodies.
My smiles faded and I kept watching as he slowly moved closer to me. His lips. Soft, plump, beautiful lips. They came closer to mine, inching their way to gain a kiss. I watched as he continued coming in for a kiss.
Before his lips met mine, I placed my finger on his lips, stopping him from all movement. He slowly opened his eyes and looked at me. "If only I felt the same way, too bad I don't" I let out a mischievous smile before ducking under his arm and going out into the living room, leaving him with that grin on his face.
I knew what I was doing. I also know he liked it, teasing isn't cheating. I love Bryan, but this little game with Dean was very entertaining. And I wanted to keep playing.
