Dean's POV:
I wanted to talk to Mariana immediately after Elaina yelled at me about getting in between Mia and Bryan's relationship.
"You need to know when to stop Dean", Elaina yelled. "You crossed the line this time. God you are such an asshole. Stop caring about yourself and your needs for once." She was right. I left the house in a rush after that. I had an appointment to get some blood tests done. I figured after my tests I'd go talk to Mia.
I'm getting tests done because my doctor is concerned about my health-obviously. He said that he thinks there may be something wrong with my lungs and kidneys so he is sending me for testing.

I walked up to Mia's door at her apartment building.
"She's not home" Frank said as he closed the door of his apartment and started walking away.
"Do you know where she is?" I asked, stopping him mid step. He turned around and looked at me.
"So are you back in the picture now? You and her together or something? What happened to that Bryan kid?" he started walking towards me. "Are you in love with her?" He asked with a smile on his face. "Young love is my favourite kind, Dan"
"It's Dean" I corrected him. He sat down on a bench and pat the seat next to him, indicating for me to sit next to him. I sat down.
"When I was your age, love was me and the beautiful Anna Marie Jacobs" he smiled as he spoke. "I met her at a party, saw this beautiful young lady dancing in the flashing lights on the dancefloor, hands in her hair and the beautiful smile on her face. I knew at that moment she was the one. And guess what son, I never even talked to her" I looked at his face and he looked as if he was reliving the moment in his head. His wrinkles on his face increased as he smiled joyfully. "I tried to build up the courage to talk to her all night that night. Soon enough she came up to me" he laughed and looked at me. "She looked at me deep in my eyes and with her soft voice she asked 'you gonna dance with me or just watch me all night' and her smile was so contagious I couldn't respond. And she pulled me onto the dance floor and then..." he stopped.
"Then what? What happened after?" I asked, intrigued into his story.
He looked at me and smiled. "I married her," he said. "I was married to her for 59 years going onto the 60th before she passed away at age 78 from a heart attack" his smile was still there as he said this.
"Frank I'm so sorry for your lo-"
"Don't be" he cut me off. "Anna died a happy lady, and she didn't have to deal with the shit this world had for her anymore" he smiled. "She's finally at peace," he said quietly.
I loved hearing this side of Frank. Everyone always saw him as the asshole old man who didn't give a shit about anyone or anything, but not a lot of people have a chance to hear him out and understand him. He doesn't make it easy either.
"She's at the coffee shop, I saw her take her notebooks and laptop with her" he looked at me and smiled. "Go find your Anna Marie Jacobs" he said before shewing me off.
"Thank you Frank" I shook his hand before getting up and walking my way to the coffee shop.
