To the Moon and back (2)

5 years after the blip.

You got up, took a quick shower and started getting ready for the day.

You were supposed to help Natasha freeing some widows today , before patrollling in the city to make sure nobody was in danger.

You had already been doing that for five years. Playing the hero and helping people.

It did not make you feel better but you needed to be constantly busy in order to avoid thinking about Yelena too much. Besides, you knew this is what she would have wanted you to do.

You sighted and were about to get
out when your phone suddenly buzzed.

It was a text from Natasha. Only five words that changed everything for you :

" We can get her back. "

Time froze and your heart started beating faster.

Glaring at the photography of your dead girlfriend on the chimney, you found yourself really smiling for the first time in five years.

All this time, you had thought you would never get to see Yelena again. And now, there might be a chance to be reunited with her.

" I'm on my way. "

You quickly replied to Natasha before rushing out of the room.

On your way to the compound, several people called for you as you had grown to be pretty famous in the neighborhood.

You did not answer them. Yelena needed you and there was no time to waste.

" So what's the plan ?" You asked, glaring at Nat. " You told me we could get her back. How ? "

" Well Bruce and Tony built a time machine." She smiled. " And if we manage to retrieve the infinity stones from the past,we will be able to reverse the snap."

" Okay, great. When do we leave ?"

Natasha gave you a serious look.

" Can we have a word outside please ? "

You nodded at her request, though you felt a little confused.

" What did you want to tell me ?"
You asked once you two had left the room. " And please make it quick there's..."

" No time to waste, I know. I'm just as eager to be reunited with Yelena as you are. " The redhead sighted. " I just need you to understand this mission is extremely risky."

" I don't care about that I..."

" Just, write something for her." Natasha looked at you with pleading eyes. " I already did in case anything happens to me. I don't want my sister to come back with no one or nothing waiting for her."

" Okay, okay." You shrugged, a bit confused. " I'll do it if you want me to but I don't see why you're being so negative. "

" I have a very bad feeling about this, that's all. Bringing back half of the world's population can't come without a price, can it ? "

" Yeah Whatever."

You were finally ready to go. Your letter had been written and given to Nat and you also had hers just in case.

You were kinda mad at the redhead for causing you to worry so much but you also knew it was necessary. No one was immortal after all.

You joined your team (you would be travelling with Thor and Rocket) and Nat gave you a reassuring smile.
