Sam's POV
I feel so fucking guilty. I failed her. I was supposed to take care of her. And I let her get kidnapped for 6 months and she had to deal with birth of her firstborn on her own. She passed out while I was licking the cut on her ankle. I know it had silver because my tongue burned as it touched the wound. I wonder why Tasha didn't see it.

"TASHA!!" I yell in my alpha voice. Tasha comes out if the hospital, a worried look on her face. My eyes narrow.

"Tasha, how come you didn't see this cut? Especially since its silver?" I ask, still using my alpha voice. Tasha's face paled. I felt my eyes darken.

"Er, um, well, you see, I-I-I wasn't r-r-really l-l-looking at-at h-her ankle so I guess I didn't see it?" Tasha stuttered. Nobody can pie to an alpha. I felt my wolf, Jax, rise and almost controlled me. Well, he half controlled me.

"DO NOT LIE TO YOUR ALPHA! IT IS A SIGN OF DISRESPECT! TELL ME THE REAL REASON! " I yelled in my alpha voice. Tasha whimpered. I heard her mutter 'I hope I don't get killed for this'. What the fuck could she mean?

"So, um, it was sorta Tania. She threatened to have a group of rogues and kill me so I couldn't risk it. So I had to leave the silver cut. If a silver cut gets infected it is like wolfsbane and it will kill you. So yeah. I just really didn't want to die. I know it sounds selfish but I have a daughter I need to take care of. I am so sorry alpha." Tasha said. Wow. So that only meant one thing. Tania was close and she wanted revenge. I growled.

"Tania will not come back in my pack Tasha. I forbid it. She is a rogue and we are the strongest pack. So you don't have to worry about her hunting you down. Because our pack guards are stronger than rogues. Now can you please help her?" I plead. She nods and goes back inside the hospital. I get up and start punching a tree.

"Sam stop." My mother says. I punch the tree harder, my knuckles breaking and bleeding from the impact.

"SAM STEEL STOP RIGHT NOW!" My mother yelled. I stopped and looked at her with glossy eyes. She looks at me worriedly.

"Mom, can't you see? I failed her. I failed Cassie. She got abused and raped for 6 months. I'm a worthless mate." I say quietly. She looks at me sadly. Then she looks at Cassie.

"You did not fail her now. You saved her. You were able to save her and she will be grateful for that. Yes, you might have failed for losing her, but you saved her now. Don't pull yourself apart for this. I'm speaking on behalf of Cassie." My mother said. I look away from my mother and look at Cassie. I walk over to her and hold her hand in both of mine.

"Cassie, I am so sorry. Mates are supposed to protect each other. I guess I failed you this time. " I say. I kiss her and carry her towards the hospital. I guess this isn't like Disney movies that the girl wakes up with the one kiss of her true love. Marianna and my mother follow behind me. Tasha is coming out as soon as we're coming in.

"Alpha, what's wrong?" Tasha asks.

"Nothing it's just that I thought it would be easier to heal her in the hospital." I say quietly. She nods and goes inside the hospital, leading us to a room. I lay Cassie on the bed and step back as Tasha cleans Cassie's ankle wound. She rubs it with alcohol and I see Cassie wince. Then, Tasha stitches the wound. She looks at me.

"Well, her wound isn't infected, luckily, so I was able to stick and clean easily. Døńt worry, she is fine now. Just wait till she wakes up." Tasha says. I nod. Tasha exits the room with her clipboard. I take a seat next to Cassie's bed.

"Cassie, you already know this, but I love you. I've loved you since I set my eyes on you. I love the way you help other, I love the way you look at me, I love when you giggle and laugh, I love when you're clumsy, I love you. I promised you that I would protect you and I broke that promise. You stayed in a psychos basement for 6 months. You're brother, my beta and best friend, died. And it's all my fault. And, Cassie, if you hear me, I just want to say that I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I didn't want this to happen. I wanted you to have a happy life but you spent six months in misery. I'm sorry. You deserve better. I'm sorry." I say. My eyes well up with tears and they fall on her hand. Her eyes shoot open and she frowns.

"Sam, this is not you're fucking fault. Were you the one who kidnapped me? No. Did you help in the abuse? No. Did you save me? Yes. Am I here now? yes. You shouldn't blame yourself for this. You saved me, and I'm here now, aren't I? Please don't blame yourself." Cassie pleads. I look at her and nod She smiles at me and I smile back.

"I love you so fucking much." I say to her.

"Me too" she replies. We lean in for a kiss and our lips meet. Thank god I have her with me. This kiss turns out to be a full blown out French kiss. Someone clears their throat from behind us. I look back and see an amused Tasha standing by the door.

"Did I interrupt something? I needed to run some tests but I can come back later if you want." Tasha says smirking. Cassie blushes and hides behind my shirt. I growl at Tasha.

"No, you can run the tests now." Cassie says. Tasha nods and walks over to her, injecting her with a needle and drawing blood from her. Cassie winces, which makes me cringe. I watch as Tasha extracts the needle and walks out of the room. When I look at Cassie, she has her mouth to the injecting spot. I smile.

"What in the world are you doing Cassie?" I ask. Just then, someone bursts into the room. A man with jet black hair and green/brown eyes enters the room.

"Nice to meet you, white wolf." He says.
