Cassie's POV
I woke up at 6 in the morning. why did I wake up so early? I looked over and saw Sam fast asleep. I traced his jawline, his collarbone and then went to tracing his abs.
"Like what you see?" Sam asked, his eyes still closed, his mouth turning into a smirk.
I blushed and looked away. I got out of the bed and went to the bathroom. I took a quick shower and shaved. dont ask where. I chose blood red jeans, a gray t-shirt, and black combat boots. I stepped out of the bathroom and saw Sam was still asleep. I had an idea.
"SAM!!!!" I shrieked. He jolted up, a scared look on his face and started running towards me. I immediately burst out laughing, crying in the process.
"Y-y-you should have seen the look on your face." I said.
He looked at me with a mad expression and I wiped the smile off my face, backing up away from him.
He walked towards me and I whimpered and flinched. When he didn't do anything I looked up and saw Sam struggling to fight back laughter. he couldn't hold it in anymore and burst out laughing. I pouted. When he stopped laughing he looked at me sadly.
"You're afraid of me?" Sam asked sadly.
"No I'm afraid of your punishments." I said looking down. his face immediately changed. His face looked worried. I knew someone mind linked him.
"Rogue attack. stay with Alexander and Marianna. I'll mind link Alexander. go to Marianna's room. do not get out." Sam said.
"Okay. Stay safe baby." I said, pecking him on the lips.
"I will. Bye" Sam said rushing out of the room. I ran to Marianna's room and already saw Alex there.
"Oh my god I'm so scared I think I'm gonna faint." Marianna said dramatically. I rolled my eyes.
Suddenly, the window broke open with a loud crack and two rogues burst in. I knew I couldn't shift because it would reveal my identity. Alex shifted but Marianna panicked.
She started hyperventilating. I told Marianna to calm down and sit this fight out. a rogue charged at us but Alex darted in front and started fighting the rogue. The other rogue charged at Alex and bit him in the ankle, giving the rogue currently fighting Alex the chance to bite Alex in the neck. I threw the wolf who bit Alex's ankle against the wall. I twisted his neck with my hands and he fell down to the ground, dead. Alex was losing the fight and it wasn't long before the rogue would kill him. so I tackle the rogue and threw him off Alex.
"Mari, take care of Alex. Alex, shift." I ordered then turned to face the rogue.
His eyes were pitch black and his mouth was covered in blood. Alex's blood. I growled and felt my eyes turn black. The rogue charged at me and I dodged him.
'Anika, do you know how to change out fur color?' I asked Anika.
'Yes' she replied.
'Then do it and shift.'
'Okay'
I felt like paint covered my skin and then I shifted. my wolf was a brown color, the color that it was when I first shifted, and I was about the same size of the rogue. I charged at him, biting deep into his neck.
The rogue snapped at me and used his hind legs to push me into a wall. I whimpered from the impact. Suddenly, there was a growl from behind the rogue and I saw Marianna jump on the rogue's back and snap it's neck. I shifted back and put on a shirt that stopped at mid-thigh that I found in a drawer and I rushed over to Alex.
"Marianna go to the pack doctor and call him here now!" I yelled. Marianna obeyed and rushed out of the room.
"Alex, Alex please stay with me don't leave me I can't handle having my entire family out of my life." I said as tears filled my eyes.
He had a huge neck and ankle wound that was gushing blood and he had bruises on his face and stomach. at this point, I didn't care that he was naked. He started to close his eyes.
"No! don't you dare Alex! you can't leave me!" I screamed.
"I will always love you little sis, dead or alive. I am so sorry I left you." Alex said.
My tears ran down my face as I had Alex's head in my lap. The tears rolled off my face and onto his.
"Please promise me you won't leave. Please" I pleaded.
"I promise. I'm always going to be with you sis. I love you." He said as he closed his eyes.
"No Alex don't!" I screamed.
The pack doctor rushed in with Sam and two other people. Sam was barely injured, only a few scratches on his chest, which was already healing. The two men grabbed Alex while Sam held me as I tried getting out of his grip.
"No! No! please! Alex! Alex please don't leave me! please! let me go! Alex!" I screamed. they left the room, locking it in the process, leaving the key to Sam.
"Sam please he can't leave me he's my only relative please" I sobbed. Sam pulled me into his chest. I cried my heart out. we both sank to the ground.
"It's all my fault." I said when I finished crying, which was after thirty minutes.
"How is it your fault?" Sam asked.
"He risked his life for me and Marianna. And I let that rogue bite his ankle. I should have stepped up to the other rogue sooner and none of this would have happened.' I said, my tears falling again.
"Alex wouldn't want you blaming himself. He made the decision to risk his life for you. And at least you stepped up after the rogue bit his ankle or else he would've died." Sam said.
He looked into my eyes. I knew I was a mess.
"Excuse me." I said as I went to the bathroom.
I looked into the mirror. I was right. my hair was sticking out everywhere and my eyes were red and puffy from crying. I used water to straighten down my hair and then washed my face. I came out of the bathroom. Sam noticed me wearing a shirt and frowned. then his expression turned pale.
"Did you disguise yourself? did anyone see you as a white wolf?" Sam asked frantically.
"I did disguise myself." I replied.
Sam still looked concerned. he carried me bridal style to our room and set me down on the bed.
"Go to sleep baby. you need to rest." Sam said in a hushed voice.
"No I need to see Alex." my voice cracked when I said his name.
"Okay but go change." Sam said.
I put on white underwear and a matching bra. then I put on a yellow floral skirt that went down to my knees with a white shirt since it was spring. I've been here for I think four to five days and so much has been happening. I put on white flats and walked with Sam, hand in hand to the pack doctor. when we went inside, I almost gasped at what I saw.
Alex was pale and the doctors were frantically trying to get his heart to beat again. It stopped beating. it took me like two minutes to process this. When he didn't wake up the doctor fell backwards into his chair.
"I'm so sorry. the rogues teeth had wolfsbane. he is gone. I'll give you two some privacy." the pack doctor said before leaving.
"You promised." I whispered sitting next to Alex. Then, I snapped.
"You stupid bastard you promised me you would stay. can you keep your prose for once? I've lived for so long without you and now I have to love without you forever?! please come back! YOU FUCKING PROMISED!!!" I yelled at the top of my lungs towards Alex. Sam pulled me into his chest and he turned into my punching bag. I gave up and sobbed against him.
"He loved you" Sam said before blackness overcame me.
