Rainbow

I know the setting sounds weird, just roll with it here

Also, disclaimer, I don't own the lyrics

It was a rainy day at Havenfield.

And Sophie was sipping hot chocolate on the porch with her earbuds in.

"Sup Foster?"

Sophie, obviously, didn't hear him. So when she saw the reflection of something behind her and turned around, she screamed

Sandor rushed in, sword drawn, and Keefe's eyes widened.

A (loud) chorus of "What's going on?" and "who's there" rung in the air. Before she knew it, Keefe, Sandor, Flori, Nubiti(they're all here just for the sake of me not having to search up which ones are left) Bo, Grady, and Edaline were surrounding her.

After she assured them that she was fine and they left she whirled at Keefe

"Why didn't you tell me you were coming over? I had a heart attack!" Despite her feeling mad, she grinned. She really had missed him.

"I came to see you, what'd ya think? And you had a heart attack? I thought the Neverseen was behind me!"

Sophie laughed

After a pause, Keefe started talking again

"Why didn't you hear me when I called your name anyway?"

"I had earbuds in," she said, but of course, he had no idea what she was talking about.

Giving him one, she demonstrated how to put them on.

After at least 7 failed attempts, she just yanked out the cord. The beginning of Memories started playing, and she paled.

That song was just too much.

While she scrolled through her playlist, Keefe asked why the sound stopped.

"No sad moments allowed" she decided and burst out laughing at his confused face

After looking through her playlist, she found a mildly depressing one.

Clicking play, she smiled at the look of awe on Keefe's face.

"I know you, you're a special one"

"Come on"

"Some see crazy where I see love"

Dragging him off the porch, she started dancing.

"You fall so low but shoot so high
Big dreamers shoot for open sky"

At first, he just stared. Finally, though, he joined her, and before they knew it, Sophie had made a playlist and looped it.

"I can see a rainbow
In your tears as they fall on down
I can see your soul grow
Through the pain as they hit the ground"

Keefe grabbed her hand and swung her around

Laughing, she flipped her wet strands over her shoulder and bumped his hip with hers

"I can see a rainbow
In your tears as the sun comes out
As the sun comes out"

Ironically, the rain started to slow down

"I am here and I see your pain
Through the storms, through the clouds, the rain"

And then it started raining cats and dogs. Keefe started laughing, and before they knew it, they were wheezing and clutching their stomachs

"Here comes the sun
Smiling down"

After a moment, they stopped laughing

"Smiling downI can see a rainbow
In your tears as they fall on down"

Sophie sneezed, and Keefe frowned

"Maybe we should get insi-Achoo!"

Sophie and Keefe sneezed again, together, and chuckled to themselves.

Then chuckling turned into laughing

And laughing turned into cackling

and calling turned into roaring

Until both of them were laughing and sneezing and hiccupping all at once.

"I can see a rainbow
In your tears as they fall on down
I can see your soul grow
Through the pain as they hit the ground"

The song had restarted, but Keefe walked over to the porch. After finagling with it for a minute, he finally got it to pause

"Come one, Sophie. You've got to go inside" He chuckled again, but finally managed to get her into Havenfield.

She trudged up the stairs, soaked to the bone.

"I'm going to shower. See you later?" she asked and Keefe smiled

"For sure,"

Turning around, he found himself face to face with Grady Ruewen

He chuckled nervously and made a move to walk past him, but Grady blocked him.

"I have to talk to you"

Keefe waited for a minute

"Soooo-Oof!" he squeaked. He was wrapped in a hug.

He stood there, rigid, for a moment, before he realized what was going on.

A warm fuzzy feeling started to brew at the bottom of his heart. It crept through the rest of his heart and soon spread to the rest of his body.

He wrapped his arms around Grady's shoulders, tears leaking through his closed eyes

Finally, they pulled back. Keefe's eyes were still glassy, but Grady either didn't notice or was kind enough to not mention it.

"Thank you" Grady's voice made Keefe jump

"She hasn't been this happy in months"

"Who?" asked Keefe, puzzled

"Sophie" Grady shot him a look

Keefe gave him a sheepish grin

"Oh. Yeah. Right. Sorry."

They sat in awkward silence before Keefe remembered that he had been thanked

"Oh! you're welcome"

Grady smiled softly. It wasn't much, but it was a start.

After walking down the stairs and receiving a plate of mallowmelt from Edaline, Keefe leaped home, a small grin on his face

He might need to take a shower, but it was worth it.

~(*uwu)~Epilouge thing~(*uwu)~

Both of them ended up catching a cold, and Sophie's regent duties had to all be through imparter calls, but neither of them regretted it.

After all, it gave them more time to hail each other.

And that's exactly what they did

So that's out of character CRAP

Sorry! I had this idea forever ago, and I sort of owed it to you to make it, so here we go!

I'm honestly probably going to make this longer another day, but this is it for now

Cya qwerts!
