I locked myself into my office after he was gone. Tears fell from my eyes when I leaned against the door. How could I have been this dumb? I knew why I had refused my feelings in the first place, this wasn't supposed to be. And Destiny had punished me by not listening to it with a broken heart that might not ever heal.

He had promised me ...

Another wave of anger built up inside me. About me. About Geralt. About Katla.

He had stated his point of view very well, but why did she do it? The Mage knew about him and I, how could she do this?

The anger stopped the tears and I looked around the room. There were still writing utensils on the table, Geralt must have just finished writing the letter. It laid forgotten next to the ink, a tablet stood close by, with a teapot and a filled cup next to it. I recognized the pattern on the ceramic, it was in the colours of Cintra. Pot and cup belonged to Katla.

She brought him tea? Geralt didn't even like tea! And he just drank the cup because he wanted to be nice? He rarely was polite!

Without even thinking twice about it, I put my hand out and casted Vindur. The tea service crashed against the wall and fell down. The liquid spilled itself all over the floor, around were pieces of the broken ceramic.

When the wind settled itself, I wiped my tears away and unlocked the door. I wanted answers from our mage, her doings raised a lot of questions.

Katla was on her way over to Weg's chambers when I caught up to her. "Katla! I think we need to speak!"

The sorceress slowed her steps and turned around to me, knowing what she would face right now but she tried to play it off like she had no idea what I wanted from her. „What is it?"

I shook my head at her. "Don't act like that, you know exactly what I want – An explanation!"

Her shoulders dropped. "You don't understand, Visna ..."

"No, I really don't!" I crossed my arms. "Why by the Light did you do this?"

"It just ..." She shrugged and bit a smile away, the memory of the kiss must have popped into her head. "Happened. And I'm not mad about it."

"I can tell," I snorted, still not believing her actions. "So, you're saying you just dropped by coincidently with a cup of tea, you had a chat and then kissed?"

She shily granted me a wider smile and nodded. "Yes, I saw him working and thought I could do something nice for him. We talked and then ... I just really wanted to kiss him ... There was no vile thought in it, you have to believe me. And the way he kissed me back was just ... wonderful. I never wanted it to stop."

"Don't need to go into detail." I snapped, knowing the feeling she described way too well. "You know he's with me, so why did you even-"

"Because I love him!" Katla cut me off, her voice was shaking. "He's kind and he cares. And you take all of him for granted, not appreciating him one bit, he's just a toy for you. What will you do if you get bored playing with him? Throw him away? Like you did with Gideon?"
