Nina wakes up painfully sitting up as her back seems to burn all over. She still laid face down on the concrete floor blood dried down the side of her face. Her back felt sticky and dry where the blood had soaked every ounce of skin it could cover back there. Nina lifted herself up feeling like her head was hollow. She slowly walked up the basement stairs wincing every step. She took a look at the clock seeing she was running late for school. She tried to hurry getting dressed but she could hardly move an arm without tearing one of the fresh wounds.
Nina walked down the dusty road looking rather stiff when a red car pulled up next to her. Nina rolled her eyes about to cuss the soc out when she noticed it was Dallas. "Oh- hey Dally." she says confused why he was by the school in a random car. "Hop in I'll drive ya to school." He says with a sigh like he was doing something he'd rather not. "Ill be fine. You probably have somewhere to be-" Nina rambles as he groans cutting her off. "Just get in the car man." He says making her nod and climb in rather stiff looking. "What's up with ya?" He asks noticing making her shake her head and try to lie. "Oh- just slept wrong is all." She says making him look at her funny but shrug it off. Wasn't his problem.
He drove recklessly making Nina smile softly here and there when he took an insane turn. He kept glancing at her as if he was waiting for something to happen. "Ya ain't scared? Most girls be screamin like 'Dally noooo'" he mocks before doing his signature chuckle making Nina shake her head laughing along. "I don't it fun I guess. Reckless but fun." She says making him snort. "You think this is reckless sweetheart? Spend a day with me and I'll show you how reckless I can be." He says making sure to give her a flirtatious smirk that she looked away from with an eye roll.
"Maybe another day. I have to help Two bit in classes." She says climbing out as he parks at the front door watching her stiffly grab her bag and stand to leave. She rushed inside knowing she was going to hear something from her first period teacher like normal. She came jogging in a bit out of breathe before taking her seat as he passed the test around for the next chapters. So his back was to the door and he didn't notice the way she slid into her desk.
But of course he knew she hadn't been there earlier, what better did he have to do then notice such things?
"Ah Miss Verro finally decided to show up. It's only your first week Miss Verro and I'm not impressed by you one bit..... maybe it had something to do with your choice in friends. You get another tardy slip." He says putting the test on her desk as the other students snicker. Two bit not even looking offended by the man's words but instead looked proud to be considered a bad influence..... or her friend? She couldn't tell.
"Thought maybe you over slept. Was about to ask Johnny for your address." Two bit says flipping over his test even though the teacher hadn't given permission yet. "Oh- yeah I didn't set my alarm clock and just- did not wanna wake up today." Nina says muttering the last part more so to herself then out loud. She once again did the sticky note plan but it was harder as Mr Melman decided this time he'd walk around the classroom to make sure there wasn't any cheating. Nina would slowly put her foot up and down as he went up some aisles and down others.
