Summer was coming.
Soon Nina and Two-Bit would be graduated and be free to find real work or in two bits case work and cause trouble.
It was like any ordinary day.....
Nina and Johnny were simply walking towards the diner talking about the tough stuff they went through with their parent beating them. When they both noticed a soc car driving slowly past them.
To Nina she wanted to merely roll her eyes knowing it was the soc boys trying to intimidate them... she was blissfully unaware it was more than that.
Johnny was in high alert however and the second he saw the car stop he turned to Nina with a panicked serious expression.
"Go get one of the guys." He demanded pushing her away from him but Nina just blinked unsure what he meant at first until she noticed the socs approaching cracking their knuckles.
Nina's mouth went dry.
They were clearly outnumbered as the damn soc car was practically like a clown car socs just kept coming out of the over crowded car and approached them menacingly. And then to make matters worse? A second car pulled up with even more....
"I'm not leaving you." Nina says with certainty but Johnny looked at her with a pleading gaze. "Please Nina- Soda and Steve will be at the DX it's like a five minute run from here if you go that way and cut through the park.... Please." He begs and Nina took in his expression and how close the socs were.
They couldn't outrun 5 -10 guys...
With a determined nod Nina took off at full speed she heard one guy yell for someone to get her and she started running faster. She didn't miss the sound of Johnny grunting clearly getting hit in the face or gut making him let out noises of pain.
Whatever soc was chasing Nina didn't let up even when the DX came into sight. Nina pumped her arms harder and started hollering for Steve and SodaPop.
And when she saw Dally's car there as well meaning he was inside? She started screaming for him too.
"DALLAS! SODA! STEVE! DALLAS!" The girl screams running and finally looking back to see the soc was arms lengths away.
All three boys came out in a panic at first unsure who was screaming bloody murder for them like that but when they saw Nina with a soc on her trail they immediately stepped into action.
