Nina walks through the parking lot after hopping off the bus last only to hear her name being called. Stopping she looks around until she spots Two Bit and Ponyboy by Two bit's car leaning on it. Nina walks over with a small smile shyly maneuvering through the busy parking lot to them. "Nina did ya catch that new Mickey Mouse last night?" Two bit asked excitedly as Nina shook her head with a faint smile. This boy really loves Mickey Mouse she thought to herself before smiling at Pony boy. "Good morning Pony." She says softly as he smiles before looking to have a question so early in the morning.
"What happened after you and Johnny left? Says some socs gave you guys a hard time?" He asks making two bit look like this was the first he was hearing of this. Johnny didn't tell the whole gang only Ponyboy, he knew it'd cause another rumble or fight. "Just- some kids from school gave us a hard time while we were walking home." Nina says leaving out that her and Johnny had crossed over to their territory when he had brought her home. Because she was technically supposed to be a soc, she couldn't help but wonder if her dad didn't hate her if she'd be like Cherry Valance.
"Gonna have to carry a switch Nina. Guys like that'll wail on anyone...... bet it was that Bob Sheldon huh?" Two bit asks his eyes burning into the preppy boy across the lot who had his arm around Cherry. "Dudes got a real stick up his ass." Two bit scoffs annoyed as Nina nodded that in fact was him and his butt buddies. "Well we better get going to class then Nina. Ya know that teacher hates us." He says snickering as Pony boy looks surprised that the teacher didn't like Nina. He figured she'd be his wet dream type of student, silent and actually enjoys to read.
Two-bit led Nina down the hall with a nonchalant arm around her shoulder. She was getting used to how touchy he could be hell he even ruffled her hair as she went to sit in her assigned seat. She actually let out a small quiet laugh before fixing her hair. Of course the second her hair was fixed and she was sat she felt eyes burning into her. The teacher sat in the front glaring at her as she had made even such a single peep in his classroom. It didn't even matter that the bell hadn't rung yet, hell she got Two bit to class early.
As the bell rang Mr. Melman began passing out a paper on the book assignment from yesterday. They were supposed to read chapters 1-3 on their own. Judging by Two bits face...... he hadn't done it either. But unlike him Nina had already read the book previously so she knew what happened. As they did the test Mr Melman seemed to be watching for the slightest cheater. Nina pulled her sticky notes out and wrote down a brief answer before sticking it on the bottom of her shoe. She crossed her leg so her foot faced two bit who's brows were furrowed with concentration.
He soon looked to glance at her and she pointed at her foot making him smile broadly writing down what she had written. Soon Mr Melman came around grabbing the papers not even looking to see if Two bit had done his. Nina put her foot down before handing her paper to the man. Two bit then put the paper in his face as a sign he'd done it. Mr Melman looked perplexed glancing at the paper then to Nina. He looked to stare into her soul before walking to the front frustrated on how Keith Mathews had actually gotten the answers.
