Chapter 22 (Bella is Family)

Skylar's POV:

While running through a sea of red we end up at a clock tower with the minutes ticking down. I glance at my watch and see that we have 2 minutes before the love of Bella's life gets himself killed by becoming a disco ball. I start humming to Rihanna's shine bright like a diamond in my head.

If only they burned instead of shined.

Oh, I bet you are confused right now. Sorry, I may have skipped a few pages, let's start from where we left off. Now where were we? Oh Yes, Bella, Alice (as I have come to know the leech's name), and I am driving to the Forks airport to save Edward.

"Alice, how far away are we from the airport?" An impatient Bella asks.

"Bella, we just got inside the car. How far do you think we are?" I ask, kinda annoyed by the prospect of meeting royal leeches.

When we got in the car Alice then started to explain the risks we were about to encounter, and honestly, they remind me of the originals from The Vampire Diaries. Except I bet these people are not as hot.

Alice's snicker brings me back into focus on what is happening, and I look over at her and see a slight smirk on her face.

"Bella we are about 10 minutes from the airport." I hear Alice say to Bella, and at this point, I start to do some math in my head.

"You mean 20 minutes right?" I ask, knowing that even when I was speeding it took me 30 minutes to get to Bella's house from the airport.

"Nope, I mean 10," Alice replies.

At which point I took a glance at the speedometer, and let me tell you, scared me just a little. I may never admit this, but I think a little pee came out as well. Now let's be real here, I am not a chicken, nor do I scare easily, but when I looked at the speedometer which read 160, I piddled a little. Who needs to go that fast?

"Oh my gods, you are going to kill us," I mumble and feel myself losing color.

"Alice has super fast reflexes because she is a vampire, so she drives faster than the average person. Also, she can see the future, so I think we are good." Ms. I-have-no-will-to-live in the back seat tells me.

"Oh, so she can foresee me sticking my foot in her butt, can she?" I asked, whipping around, showing that I did not find her humor funny.

"I can't see your future, or see you at all. That is why I was so surprised when Bella started talking about you and your cousins." Alice says.

"Oh great, so you can't see yourself in this car, and therefore can't prevent the inevitable accident," I say.

Just when she is about to answer my phone goes off, reading Staples with a picture of Addie's face covered with cake from when we were 13.

"Oh, here we go," I mumble before answering.

"SKYLAR KIMBERLY-ANNE JACKSON! WHERE ARE YOU? ALL WE HEARD FROM JACOB WAS THAT YOU LEFT WITH A LEECH AND ARE ON YOUR WAY TO SAVE THAT NO GOOD MIND RAP-" Addie starts yelling, and I have to cut her off before she can ruin our kid's rating.

"WHOA, okay. You need to calm down Miss." I say.

"Sky, where are you, and why is Jake yelling at everyone saying that the love of his life and imprint are in danger?" Addie asks, and I can't help but chuckle to myself when I hear the distinction between Bella and me.

"I am doing the mission. I was never here to be someone's imprint. I am here to make sure that the quest is complete and that I can go back to my mom's apartment and finally have the family that I have always wanted. I went so you two didn't have to go, I am sorry that completing the mission is not your priority, but it is mine." I say, having enough of this back and forth between Jacob and myself.
