The two walked up the ramp the man with the straw hat carrying his rod over his shoulders and his bucket in his hand.
"Do you know why I had to go to you? Because she never explained why."
"What do you know about MF?"
"It's a safe place for those born different."
Different was a key word that meant magic.
"Yes, and?"
"They teach and train you. But in turn you might find yourself in missions either chasing demons or protecting people from them."
"Have you been on a mission my dear?"
"No, sir not let. I'm still in training."
"So, you haven't been on a mission?"
"No, sir."
"Nor facing a real demon?"
"No. Younkin said I was too young to face a demon let sir."
"Rule number one when dealing with kitsunes my dear. Don't take there word too young serious because those things can live up to one thousand years old. I'm in my forty and Younkin still calls me young."
"You know him than?"
"I do. I'm a member after all."
Member was another key word for agent.
"You are?"
"Member one my dear."
Her eyes widen, Agent one. The Agent one she didn't think the person who had the title of Agent one was even still alive.
"That's so cool."
"Shh," he said.
"Huh?"
"Shh." He said again.
She was about to open her mouth again only this time she really did look around to see what Agent One was talking about. It turned out the world had gone still again and it wasn't caused by a switch.
"It happened again," she said in a low whisper.
"Again?" Agent one said.
"We're you paused or we're you anywhere?"
"Anywhere dealing with fairies and apples. I don't think I pause like everyone else does when it comes to switching."
"Oh."
She supposed that made sense. Like his own little world. Little world? Agent Smith said that it was possible that all the other Agents we're trapped in their own world. But first she needed to figure out this issue.
Who keeps stopping time?
It wasn't her. It couldn't be a switcher either because even she would be frozen still if it was another switch.
"Switch."
"Hang on..." Agent one was cut of and the world turned a shade of black and dark blue.
It couldn't just be a switcher.
"Agent one, are you with me?" she asked.
He wasn't. Agent one was frozen in time and his yellow straw hat had turned a dark shade of blue.
Something wasn't right.
Something was awfully wrong. Missing agents, missing base, no Head Leader and it wasn't just Newcastle. Time stopping on its own with no switcher and Jerry thinking she has lost the plot. Granted, Jerry had nothing to do with the picture, but she was still upset with what he had done this morning even though to him it had never happened.
