Violet sobbed for a few days.
She knows Neddy isn't dead he was standing in the room after all. Right in the middle of a ring of chairs his mouth opened as if he was forever stuck midway through his conversation. But the pain and sadness didn't go away the thought of Neddy forever being like this was an awful thought because now she was stuck with one old man. A possible killer who had a thing for red dresses and worst her cousin.
Her cousin.
Why couldn't it be Jerry?
Why?
"Hey, Violet check this out. Switch."
Jerry was there than he was sitting beside her. That used to be her power she sobbed again.
"No, no it's alright Violet look I can do this too."
She stopped sobbing and Jerry was suddenly outside the window waving with delight. She sobbed again. She picked up a few text books walked down the ramp and then behind the building only to throw those said text books at Jerry.
"Ow, ow, ow Violet."
All three text books had been enough to force Jerry onto the ground leaving him in a bruised pain. She huffed, stormed right pass him and out the farm. She was going to meet Agent One who was at the park reading the papers he found at the library. She had to ask about portal guns because Neddy was convinced that the other Agents will be soon to follow him and Agent One was the only one outside of Smith who knew where the portal guns are. And, she didn't trust Smith.
"You alright my dear?" Agent One asked looking up as she sat on the other side of the table.
"No. I'm still upset. Will Neddy be like that forever?"
"Fourteen will return to normal with the rest of the world," Agent One paused. "I hope."
"Where's Smith?"
"She's gone of to the markets. She seems convinced that we can't do anything on our own," Agent One said with a chuckle.
"Did you find anything about her?" Violet asked.
The laughter in Agent One voice died down and he let out a heavy sigh as he flipped through the pages before passing her a small file.
"What's this?"
"Go on, read it," the old man said.
She found the request a bit odd, but shrugged her shoulders as she looked down at the paper. She wasn't too shock to see a woman that looked like Agent One just younger and no red dress, but a dark blue dress that might as will be something one wore to the ball dance.
"Manon Hawthorn, mother to Iris and Ivy Hawthorne. Magic, spell casting," she said with her eyes widen.
"Go on keep reading."
"Manon was known for using her magic to steal fine jewels and dresses alike. She caused a bit of trouble in the past, but had disappeared for a few years during the early two thousand. Many had thought that Manon Hawthorn had passed away. However, unknown to many Manon had become a hermit and lived of the gird to perfect her magic. Her plan was to become young again, but the spell back fire causing her twin daughters, Iris and Ivy Hawthorne to be forever young. There was a catch to the spell which backfire hitting Manon and turning her into a much older woman. Granted, a woman that can't die, but still much older and healthier than she original was."
Golden Eyes was right no wondered he always wanted to talk about the twins because the whole mess started because of the Hawthorne family.
"She's not a Smith than."
"No, she most certainly isn't. Now, tell me my dear when she spoke to you before you went of to find me. What magic did she say she had?"
"She, said that she knows when people are lying. Is that a lie?"
"Likely, not. But she does likely have it because of her spell casting magic. Just remember to never ever tell her this. Manon was an awful woman and there's still some of that in Smith. If the twins are behind it than there likely just puppets."
"Do you think she planned this?"
"Indeed. She once turned a platoon of Agents back to five-year-old's."
"That actually happened?"
"It did. That old woman is obsessed with being youthful. Between what's happening now and your magic going away I do not doubt that she is behind it. I also don't doubt that she killed someone to get to her position."
"But how is taking away switching and stopping time a spell to bring back younger years?"
"No, clue. I just know that if anyone can pull it off with nobody stopping them it would be Smith. It would also explained why we haven't done anything since the twins took over."
"Is that why the twins haven't tracked us down since then?" Violet asked.
"I wouldn't be shock to find out if it is the reason why. After all, their mother with us if we do try and pull something off, she could easily handle all three us. Especially your cousin, poor mate doesn't stand a chance."
"But you're the Agent One," Volet protested. "There must be something you can do."
"I'm old Twenty-Five. In my hay day I would be able to fight Manon without an issue. But with my old age I can't do very much but hope my hand doesn't shake when I pull the trigger."
There had to be someone to stop Smith. Before Violet would've been able to take care of the woman herself. After all she was old and sure she can run really, really fast while wearing high heels. But still the age differences must be able to do something to help level out the playing field.
Finding out that she is actually the twin's mother though wasn't something Violet was ready for.
"She always talks about Younkin like he is the worst person in the world. Why is that?"
"Kitsune don't age like you and me. Their one thousand years is like our three years. He stays young no matter what and every time he ages, he gains new magical power. While all she gains is another wrinkle. It really only just comes down to youth. But in saying so kitsunes can easily go face to face with any spell caster."
"Then let's find a kitsune."
"No, can do. Kitsune is actually a very small race and the wild foxes around here are just that foxes. All the other kitsune live on the Eastern side of the world."
"Meaning?"
"Most of them are in Japan and likely frozen like everyone else."
Violet scoffed folding her arms over her chest.
"But there is a way."
"Which is?"
"Before Neddy froze Golden Eyes took us to the world where everyone else is. Younkin said that if we can open a portal, we can free the other agents trapped in that realm."
"You would need a portal gun to get to another realm," Agent One informed.
"I know and I just so happen to know the Agent One," Violet said with a smile.
"Hmm, that true. Alright, get your cousin we will leave now while Smith is still out shopping."
"Can't you get my cousin?" Violet asked.
"Oh, look so much paper work," Agent One said. As he gathered the paper around him.
"Whatever," she muttered. Standing up and walking back to the farm.
