"Not only did you have plans to ditch me in Muswellbrook. But you stole a car. You didn't get any supplies at all and none of you got me a new red dress," Agent Smith lectured.
"We also picked up a stray," Neddy pointed out.
"I'm not a stray," Jerry said.
"You also picked up a stray," Agent Smith splat back. "What we're you three thinking?"
"It was my fault Agent Smith," Violet said.
"Your fault? And, how would it be your fault Twenty-five?"
"When we got a phone call from the twins, I was willing to do anything to save my cousin."
"Aww, she does care."
Violet punched him in the arm hard enough to leave a bruise.
"Ow."
"And, you didn't come back for me to help you save your cousin because?"
"I don't trust you," she said honestly. "I really know nothing about you outside of the fact that you're some higher up in Muswellbrook."
"Is there more to this story Twenty-Five?"
"No."
Agent Smith raised an eyebrow for her magical ability was able to spot a lie. No, doubt she knew Violet had just lied to her straight to her face.
"I will give you points for not being a coward Twenty-five. But I am a respected member of Magic Force a higher up, might I add. So, where in God's name did you get the mere idea that I wasn't trust worthy?"
"A dream," she half admitted.
"A dream?" Agent Smith scoffed. "Dreams are the last place you go looking for information Twenty-five even more so when it comes to a respectable member of Magic Force. I would rather not see you for the rest of the day. Mr. Gershon do come with me. I will try and explain to you about these magical abilities you have."
"I could go with Violet." Agent Smith glared at Jerry. "I mean Twenty-five. If these had been her powers than if anyone can teach me it would be her."
"Your cousin is clearly not in the right state of mind at the moment Mr. Gershon now come along there's a small park across the road. It is a perfect place to teach you."
"Be careful with her," Violet whispered into Jerry ear.
Jerry nodded his head and followed after Agent Smith.
"Well, I'm off to take a nap," Agent One said with a yawn.
"What about the twins?" Neddy asked. "They started the whole thing. Jerry un- frozen because of them. Surely, they noticed that he wasn't beside them the moment they looked."
"That's what naps are four Fourteen. It's to let me think back and work out what those two are up to. But do keep an eye on Jerry. He might have some sort of tracking spell on him."
"You mean tracking chip?" Violet asked.
She knows her phone had a tracking chip on it before she ended up leaving it at her flat. She figured with not many people left to call there wasn't any point on taking it with her.
"No, I mean a tracking spell. The twins could've placed a spell on him. They also might be behind your magic disappearing and the sudden gain of magic that your cousin found himself in."
"Do we tell this to Smith?" Violet asked.
"It depends. Twenty-five who told you not to trust Smith?"
"Golden Eyes."
"You mean the building can talk?" Neddy asked.
"No, not the building the dragon."
"Dragon?" Violet asked. "Pink right? Yellow eyes and a golden mane?"
"Yes, that's right. He is said to be the spirit of the building. He comes every few years as a human and checks out what has happened with Magic Force every now and again. He's a mentor to many."
"He warned me about Smith. Said that she shot someone to gain her position."
"Great, it's the end of the world and we're stuck with a mad woman," Neddy said.
"It's possible," Agent One mumbled. "I need to know for sure though. Maybe I won't have that nap after all, but I'll check out the library. I'm sure Smith won't mind pointing me to the right direction seeing that she is from here after all."
"You really think she killed someone?"
"I'm not suggesting she didn't, but I'm also not suggesting that she's innocent. Beside I was also thinking of another connection between her and someone else that Magic Force had dealt with in the past."
"Who?" Violet asked.
"You will see my dear when I come back with the information. It's been a long time since I've dealt with villains. Also, one of my fairy friends said not to tell the fairies their name my dear."
Her eyes widen. "They know then?"
"Yes, but at the time they we're unable to meet you because of another strange force. I take it that's Golden Eyes?"
She nodded her head.
"Very well than, take care you too and keep your distance away from Smith until we know for sure just who she really is."
She smiled knowing that she didn't need to be told twice about staying away from Smith.
"Take care One."
"Well do, keep an eye on that cousin of yours as will."
Neddy and Violet watched as Agent One wander out the gateway and across the road where Smith was lecturing Jerry about his magic.
"Whoa, the old lady being a silent killer. Epic twist."
She rolled her eyes. "No, Neddy. Not epic just..."
"Just what?"
"I don't know. Strange I supposed. Why kill someone?"
"I dunno. If that person was a higher up and she wanted the job. Why not? Greedy is a fairly common goal among the people."
"Who said that?"
"My cousin. No, clue what it means though but it sounds deep. Hey, come on. There's a river near here we can go down there to buy time."
"What about Jerry?"
"He'd be fine. Beside if he does die, we know that Smith is totally evil."
That was her cousin.
"Okay, wrong choice of words. So, um river?"
She gave one more look to Jerry who was listening to every word Smith was saying as Agent One wander up the road no doubt he was pointed to the town library. Jerry will be fine.
He's safe.
He's safe.
She hopes.
