I wasn't sure what I was expecting from my family, but this was a high possibility. They are silent and slowly getting mad. I knew this was a risk, but I had to. I couldn't live a lie.
Grandma Wanda gives an angry sigh. "Agatha, dear, what are you talking about?! Who did this?"
"Sweety, you know how important this stuff is to the women of this family, you shouldn't joke about this stuff."
"I am not joking, Dad. I am serious about all of this. Magic is no longer in me and I do not want anything to do with it." I answer.
"Then you have nothing to do with this family!" Aunt Hecate explodes.
"You used to be with us and one of our strongest, now you want to be part of those who try to kill us?!" Grandma accuses.
"If you are serious about all this like you say, then you are no longer part of this family. You have one week to get everything you want to keep out of this house and never come back unless you are returning to our ways." Mom declares.
I am shocked, but nod. I go into my room and pack some of the bear necessities (A/n song) to have something out of the way. I organize nic nacs and other random room stuff for a bit before refacing my family. I tell them I come back to gather the rest of my things later, and walk out the door.
Now, where to go. I could go to Kinsey, but she might side with the Welshes. Oh! Natalie! If anyone can help, I bet she would. I walk 13 minutes to her house. I knock on the door and wait. After a minute a lady in her forties. She asks, "yes?".
"Hello, I am looking for Natalie. May I see her please?" I ask.
"Okay." she says. She then calls behind her, "Nat! Someone is here for you!"
I hear noise and soon Natalie appears and the lady leaves. I can see John farther in the house. I give a wave to him and turn to Natalie who was asking what was wrong.
"I have turned on magic and turned to the Good." I tell her. "And my family has kicked me out. I have a week to get everything I want out."
Natalie brings me inside and hugs me. John joins in too. I am given some water and crackers. Nat is rubbing my back as I explain to them what happened in more detail. Natalie says I can stay with her, and her mom also allows it. I feel accepted and loved by them, it is nice.
It takes a few days to get used to Nat's house, but it is nice. We go to school together and they helped me move my stuff out. Luckily, Nat's family has a spare room and is very loving. John is over many days after school, and if he is not, we are most likely at his house. Those two are growing very close. I am happy when I realize I have no negative feelings from John when I am near him. We discovered, after finally opening up about those odd feelings, that we both had them and it was because he is in the Good as well.
School life has changed. Kinsey doesn't really talk to me anymore and I am finally talking to my old friends from pre-magic again. It is so nice to have those old connections back. This new chapter of my life is familiar and different and I think it is preparing me for the rest of my life.
John reached out to the 'spy' team yesterday. They are going to meet with us in two days. Natty and I want to clear the air and make this right.
----------------------------------------------------------
John through Natty told Dominique and the others to go to the grassy opening by their school. They met Saturday morning on a warm sunny late April day. They talked for a few hours. Agatha told how she left magic. The twin said she knew it was an accident. Natalie expressed how sorry she was and how that was not the plan and she is still learning. Other pieces were discussed within the group as well. By the end of it tears were shed, hugs were given, and there was a sense of closure.
"Oh, before we go. In a few days, can we all meet up at this one place please? I can have John text you the location."
          "Sure." Keith said.
"If you tell us enough ahead of time, it should be fine." Makena says.
On that note, everyone went home. The next day, Natalie went over to John's house after he returned from his later service. They talked for a little and then John asked where they were meeting. Nat told him it was the hill from the previous fall. John was instantly concerned.
"There? Are you sure? What are you doing?" John inquired.
"Yes, there is something I learned, and I need to tell the group." Nat was confident.
So the next week found a large group of teens of various ages hiking up a beautiful, grassy hill. Nearly all of them were confused, but some got second hand nerves from Natalie. When they got there, they all stood around in awkward silence.
"Okay, this is about to reach an even larger level of awkwardness, so, Nat?" Dominique asked. "Ready to fill us in?"
"Yes, I am very curious about this." Agatha said.
"Well, I need you all to keep an open mind, because this is heavy and may hit close to home." Natalie warned.
The ones hit hardest took a deep breath, and the others were on edge, but curious still. John gave her a 'you sure about this' look and a 'you got this' nod. Nat took a preparatory breath.
"It is about Jaci Sasi. I know you were told one thing about this, but there is more. Jaci Sasi is not who you think they are. The Jaci Sasi that Zeke told us about was actually two different Jaci Sasi's. The first one was bad, just plain bad, but the second, she just made mistakes. They were accidents, terrible accidents, but accidents. The Jaci Sasi lives for 100+ years then passes the torch to the next one, that I believe they choice." Natalie told the group.
"And how do you know this?" Keith asked.
Nat took a breath and said, "because I am the next one. So I know it is true. I could feel it when she told me. I know telling you all this is a risk, but I also know I can trust you."
"You talked to her?" Zeke asked.
"Wait, wait! The next one?! You never told me that! And what is this about living a hundred years?! Are you just going to disappear on us? On your family? Friends? Me?" John exploded.
"Yes, I talked to her. And John, you needn't worry. I won't disappear from everyone for the rest of my life, but I might be gone for a few hours at a time. I will be okay." Nat reassured.
"So, that's where your powers are from?" Agatha asked.
"Yes, and I want you guys to meet her." Natty said.
There were some hesitations, but after a minute a few of them gave closed eyes, solemn sort, nods. So, Natalie went to the center slash tip of the hill and heeled down. Within two minutes, a foreign figure appeared in the distance. Coming closer it was revealed to be Jaci Sasi. The group, besides Nat who was closest and John who didn't move, backed up from her.
"Hello." She said, "I am Jaci Sasi, but my friends call me JC. Natalie informed me that there were negative words about me and I want you all to know that I am so sorry for all of it."
The group was quiet, but a few nodded to say they believe her, accept her apology, or to say 'hi' back.
"Have you told them the news yet, my Chosen?" JC asked.
"I am about to." Natty answered, "So, guys. I think Zeke mentioned this as well, but there are other spirits like JC. They also live a long time, though different lengths. Well, their time has come to pass on their torch as well. Um... they are going to choose out of you guys. So, some of this group is going to have superpowers."
Again the group was silent. They were in shock. They didn't sign up for this. Was there a choice? It was strange to them though, how Natalie was so at peace and content with her new lot. No, not content- she was thriving, glowing, no- she was fulfilling her purpose in life. She was in her element and the group saw how she knew exactly what to do. She was becoming a leader. John was worried about the future, but proud of his bestie and crush.
Jaci Sasi then spent some time explaining what would happen and what their jobs and purposes would be. After about an half an hour of talking, mainly JC with a little Nat, the time came to call the others. Jaci Sasi backed up to near where Natalie started when she was called and closed her eyes. Soon many strange forms from afar started to appear.
Within a minute four new spirit beings were beside Jaci Sasi. There was a woman with black as night hair in a forest green dress with brown sleeves. Her eyes were a bright hazel and she had a serious face. The other three were men. One of the men had on a shirt that looked like sand and his bottom half never fully formed- swirling winds surrounded him with the occasional leaf or two. His hair was strawberry blonde and had a fiery look on his face. His piercing blue eyes shone power. A man next two JC had dark skin, brown hair, and a kind look on his face. His clothes were mitch matched, stitched together pieces of fabric and designs. There was a sense of wisdom in his expression, and the glasses helped. The last man was the shortest and looked a little weak to the group. He had on a plain black suit that was trim and proper.
It was a magnificent sight to everyone. These powerful beings would choose their future. It was amazing. To think they all followed the Good and wow. They were all just in shock.
It was determined that the twin was the perfect choice for the woman. The twin would gain control over nature and could heal people. The moment she was chosen, the group could see a sense of healing and peace on her milk chocolate face. She could finally find full closure.
John was blown away when the sandy shirt, haft wind man said he picked him to take his place. John would gain telepathy. He could also command fire and wind. The young man knew right then that he would be able to stay by Natty's side for a long time.
The man in a suit came up to the bold young leader, Keith, and told him that his powers were earth, strength, and telekinesis. Size wasn't what mattered. Keith's curly hair bounced when his fair fellow leader, Farley, slapped him on the back and congratulated him. They had been leaders side by side for years and Farley knew his friend would do great. Keith had been hoping for a chance to take a leap of faith. This was it.
Makena was finally called out by the wise man. He told her that he could see her wisdom and intelligence. He wanted her to take his place as the spirit. He wanted to transfer his ability to change shape and project his thoughts to her. Makena was so moved. While she knew she couldn't say 'no', she also wanted to yell 'yes!'.
After all this, Jaci Sasi came up to Natalie and said, "My dear chosen, if you haven't come to this yet, I want you to know that your powers are teleportation, flying, and complete control of water and ice. Also, I am so proud of you."
About an hour was then spent in explanations and small practices. The spirits then bid farewell to the group of spies, heroes, followers of the Good, etc. The day had been eventful, just like the past couple months. It went better than Natalie could have ever imagined.
Slowly, everyone went home. There was an eeriness to the hill from that point on. The gifted five would be going back to it though. They had to come to practice and fulfill the transfer just like Nat. For all of them it was the same basic practice of it taking a few years, being slow and gradual, and the future possibility being as easy as working like a day job.
The day had just been wow.

John and Natalie were walking down their road almost back to their homes. Agatha went 'home' ahead of them. John noticed that they were coming upon the place where Natalie collided with Vanessa. It was even about the same time of night.
John had a small smile and timidly took Natalie's hand.
She looked up at him. He gave her a smile and said, "I guess we are back to the beginning."
She caught onto what he was saying, "yes but so much has changed."
John reached over and put his hand on her cheek. Natalie leaned forward, reached up, and kissed him. He immediately kissed back.
Back to the beginning. Natalie hoped for as bright a future as her brother's when he proposed in the woods with a crystal.
As John and Natalie held each other, they knew their future was brighter than ever before.
