"betty it's ok, your sister is just a pyscho that happens to be a drug dealer run away to get the milk type parent." i said to my cousin as she leaned on my locker
"cheryl."she scolded
"what?! it's the truth."i defended
out the corner of my eye i so happen to see toni topaz walking towards us,bitch mode on
"hey cheryl,betty."
"antoinette. what do want to say now that you're in my presence?"
"i wanted to ask you on a date?"she said looking me in my eyes
i took me an minute to gather myself and i could tell she was getting nervous because i wasn't saying anything. i gulped before i could give her a answer
"i- sure,why not. when and where?"i asked as she smiled

"cool, uh here's my number just text me and i'll tell you the details."she said as she handed me a piece of paper and walked away

i didn't text toni during school because i don't want her to think i'm that greedy to talk to her,cause i'm not.
"hey mumsie, what you got cooking?"i asked and sat on one of the chairs at the counter
"umm red beans and rice,with cornbread."she said and i looked at her stunned
"is Mrs.Topaz here?"i asked cause apparently they're best friends and they have been since high school. i've only seen toni here and there growing up,she's always be with her dad at home i guess.
"no she's not,but they are coming over for dinner."she said
"no no no mom,if they're coming to dinner let Mrs.Topaz hep you cook i meannnn."
"cheryl,are you saying i don't season my food?!"
